are all vitakraft food good for hamsters?
even those not listed in the first page?
any other food is good?
how to know if its a good food?
how did you guys validate that vitakraft was a good food?
just asking so i know how to judge when buying food for my hammie
when at first i got my hamster i just simply bought a hamster food & give him. then i came into this forum & asked, everyone recommended me to get vitakraft. so i bought vitakraft (premium) after the old food finished. i opened it & compare....just by opening it also u can smell the freshness & when u compare there is many different variates of food in there, i do notice there is lots of those green pellets. that stuff is very healthy for hamster (i googled it). i do notice too that the old hamster food used to have more nuts....this less...but still got la....& my hamster seems to like the pellets in vitakraft rather than those pellets in the old hamster food (forgot already what is the name of the brand).even those not listed in the first page?

sorry but i dont believe in simply giving my hammy food without consulting their dietary needs first.
just like humans, we should eat the food in the food pyramid in the amounts recommended, i believe that my hammy should be given a diet that provides all the nutrients he needs
its not about survival its about living healthy

Hi, I bought a hamster cage for my pet rats, but now they have a new cage and the hamster cage seems like a waste if left over there so I would like to take care of some hamster too. Fellow hamster owners, please choose the most suitable species for me. I prefer the one that's:
1) Clean
2) Not so hard to take care of (Less poops, don't need to clean cage often, like once a week)
3) Love to be cuddled and handled
4) Not aggressive (Bite/Hurt people)
That's pretty much all. Please recommend for me thanks ^^
almost all hamsters are clean....hamster love to groom their self. well the smaller the size of the hamster the less poop they produced, but i wouldn't worry about poop at all because their poop will usually turn hard after they poop & its odour less...well i never actually put it infront my nose la....but when i clean their cage cant really smell any unpleasant smell. but u should worry about their pee instead. hamster pee is very concentrated & it smells....thats why people usually clean the cage twice a week because of the smell. but the good thing is hamster will choose a spot & the edge of the cage too pee....so its easier to clean the cage...1) Clean
2) Not so hard to take care of (Less poops, don't need to clean cage often, like once a week)
3) Love to be cuddled and handled
4) Not aggressive (Bite/Hurt people)
That's pretty much all. Please recommend for me thanks ^^
it is also possible to train your hamster too pee in the toilet...not easy tho for some hamster....but it was easy for mine. so if they pee only in the toilet then u know cleaning the toilet is the hardest part only....the others all very easy already.
well 100% sure do not get a roborovski...they are hard to handled...they jump & run a lot. & is very active. its either winter white or syrian, but for most first time hamster owner syrian is the best....coz they are bigger in size & easier to tame them. syrian is not a very cute looking hamster when u compare to winter white or robo...but they are very smart creature & will understand the owner well (its true...u can check out in google...& ask any syrian owner)....all hamster which is not tame will bite...so u have to tame them first....but as i said syrain is very easy to tame la....& also try not to get from pet shop....those hamster is very hard to tame....if u can find home breeder is good...otherwise u got no choice la then i guess. good luck
