QUOTE(Sophiera @ Sep 9 2009, 01:05 PM) Min min made some soft chirping/clicking/squeaking noise wne tI pick her up too much.... I think she's angry at me XD sounds like she's being defensive. i'm not sure why though...she's from a breeder rite??? then taming can't be the issue... lol! pms perhaps...when females are on heat they can have mood swings. |

i went to PLC today just to do some window shopping...and i saw this little winter white hamster with an injured eye. so, i did inform the workers there and asked them to remove it to a safer place to avoid more injuries as well as infection. i got so pissed of by what the lady said. she told me that it is normal for them to fight and it's just a small injury. and it won't harm the hamster. how on earth could that be true???! the eye was severely red and closed. and i assume that the little chap could be around three months old... i wanted to take it back, but persuading my dad is the hardest thing to do...
anyone please help me??? what shall i do??? |

the main problems are: people don't do research, they take things for granted(they just don't know that animals do have feelings just like us), and some people can never take advice(and this is when arguments and etc starts)...
ps- i wasnt pointing to anyone. if anyone is guilty there's nothing i can do about it. |

did you just get him or he's been with you for sometime? perhaps leave him alone for 2 or three days then see how things work out...then slowly try handfeeding his fav treat...

this question goes to all breeders...
i was wondering if you guys actually check on the hamsters you gave away? like perhaps once in two months or etc? i'm not into breeding but i would like to knw...here'something i would like to share. it's from a forum i always go to. http://www.madabouthamsters.com/forum/show...ad.php?tid=6770 it is about a hamster that was adopted from a breeder and poor little fella was mishandled. haha! omg! you thought i was shooting ka??? no la wei...haha! that sounded like shooting? i was just curious... and i think they should check on their hamsters la .just a suggestion.
note: i did not mean to offense anyone at all. i can't think of a better way to put my question. i'm really sorry if that sounded offensive. my apologies. feel free to slap me in pm Added on September 15, 2009, 1:47 am QUOTE(Merrinette @ Sep 14 2009, 11:27 PM) yes,let things calm down first...there's nothing much you can do at the moment... you shouldn't push him too much or he'll get more stressed. so,let him calm down...wait for a few days first. then start all over again(i meant the taming process)This post has been edited by sharkie28: Sep 15 2009, 01:48 AM |

QUOTE(5564321 @ Sep 15 2009, 11:53 PM) I bought a Winter Gold hamster, still a newbie in hamster, I bought it with a pack of food(its in green color, pieces in ball shape and quite hard). I didn't buy the water bottle for it yet, should I do so? I put it in a temporary paper box, mineral water cap with water and food of course...any advise? your hamster need some serious changes. asking whether a bottle is needed or not is not supposed to be a question.all living thing need water. and placing a bottle cap isn't a good idea. it can be toppled over. and can you specify the food brand that you just bought? and most importantly your hammy needs a cage.since you just got him, leave him alone for at least one to two weeks so that he can get used to the surroundings, then,if he's not tame, you can start the taming process. just to remind you, since you've got one, be fully responsible on it. feel free to ask us questions and we'll do our best. good luck to you |

um.....i'm not quite sure about the food..but most of us here buy Vitakraft or Harry Hamster food. secondly, the scented bedding and the scented sand bath are REALLY bad for them. you must avoid anything that is scented. because they're bad for their skin as well as their respiratory system. besides that chemicals must have been added to them to make them scented. so,please change them. i've got no comments on the food tho. just make sure there's no ETHOXYQUIN written on the pack
