um.....as far as i know to bring a pet by plane to another country involves A LOT of paperworks and documents. Some countries require medical check ups and the animal needs to be quarantined for two weeks(singapore).
I'm not sure about malaysia tho. If there's quarantine involved you better consider your pets condition first. |

lol! MIA for quite sometime...I'm back
Togepy,it's best for you to go see the sand directly. It's difficult to judge wheter it's coarse or dusty. Do not buy it if it's dust-like. |

you put both syrian and dwarf together?!!
you must separate them both immediately. Two different breeds must not be kept together. Remove them asap. Added on January 4, 2010, 8:58 pmplus the wheel is way too small and the bedding ins not appropriate. Syrian dont do well with tubes. Remove them if possible. you must not THINK about it. It's MUST for you to separate them.
housing two different types is ridiculous! Have you not done any research before getting hamsters? This post has been edited by sharkie28: Jan 5 2010, 12:47 PM |

since you've just got her let her get used to the suroundings first. Just leave her for a week or so to let her settle down.
Change the bedding once a week, give plenty of water and good food is the secret to a fluffy hammy Have fun with your new one |

there's no need for you to get another one. Most hamsters do really good alone. I'm afraid it's too late for you introduce one now. They might end up fighting. If you play with your hamster everyday they WON'T feel lonely. They can fight although they were from the same colony.
The best hamster food is VITAKRAFT (you can see in the main page Most owners here use that brand. as for the cage you can get plastic tank which cost abt RM35,which is very spacious enough. Snoopie, nice cage you have there This post has been edited by sharkie28: Jan 7 2010, 03:09 PM |

if you want to get extension get from the same brand. It will fit. why dont you get a plastic tank cage for your hamster, It is very spacious and wayy better than the cage you're having. Plus, you can add more toys to make it interesting and fun. The cage costs around RM35. I'm sure ou can compare the size of your hammy and the cage.. There's definately not enough sapce for it to run around.
Hamsters, run A LOT. So,you better get a wheel fast. A wheel is a must in every cage.. Taking him out is not enough at all. This post has been edited by sharkie28: Jan 7 2010, 10:40 PM |

Better not wait for anything. There's no point asking us hear regarding this. There's nothing we can do also. Please bring him to the vet ASAP. Plus,we never know how serious this could be. Please keep us update

so,are you just going to leave your hammy like that without knowing what's wrong? what's the point of keeping pets when you can't afford their necessities?

QUOTE(Snoopie @ Apr 29 2010, 01:32 AM) yeah i guess so, i cant do anything also.. When i bought the hamster to the vet, everybody look at me and even the receptionist told me i am the 1st person who bring hamster to the vet.. She also told me duno the doctor will treat my hamster or not since no body had never bring a hamster before.. So i told her nvm, as there were so many ppl there waiting for their dogs and cats.. So i ask her mostly how much it cost? she told me to try other vets and roughly around RM30.. There's a vet that treat hamsters. Dr.jenny and clinic named Hand n Paws.Is not that i cant afford, is not worth by just letting the doctor to see my hamster with consultation fees cost RM30.. It haven include the medicine yet.. Im sure it will cost up to RM100++ If u were in my situation, im sure u will do the same since it cost so expensive.. Besides, hamster is not an expensive pet which im able to afford it, but this is totally off my budget.. I treat them well as i now raring 6 hamsters now.. Buy them quality foods and give them each 1 personal cage for their own living.. As now, i see he is still active and alive.. So i wont bother about the thing as i not sure is a tumor or wat.. I will just try to spend as much time with him as i can with them.. As u know, hamster life span is only 1-2years.. 03-7804 6539 03-7804 6539 Btw,if i were i your situation i wouldnt do the same. And as i know(based on keeping hamsters since i was 13 hamsters lifepan is 3-4 years. Hope i helped and good luck with your hammie |

I wouldn't put him under any stress considering his age.. At the same time i definately do not want to see that little old chap suffering either.
Any other options? Added on May 7, 2010, 12:00 am QUOTE(NoiZy @ May 5 2010, 09:53 PM) Damage or no, you should be more pre-active. When I let my WW out, I make sure that all holes are sealed, and block edges with books etc, high enough so they can't climb. The only place which is left alone is where me myself would be, since when he comes and try to run, I will be there. Try put some toys, mine will play once in awhile, but normally just run around and hunting for the foods/treat that I placed around the table. Added on August 29, 2010, 8:33 pm QUOTE(hiroko_jiayi @ Jul 22 2010, 01:39 PM) Hi, i ve found that there's a "tumor" at my hamster's armpit for quite some time. it has stop growing. And my hamster still looks healthy although he is almost 2 years old. Tie it with a string and it'll drop off???? No,never attempt that. It could be such a pain to the hamster and we could never be sure if it's bening or malignant. Take it to the vet ASAP. They know better. But that "tumor" really looks disturbing. And im afraid might affect his movement or health. I saw there's somebody saying that, using a string to tie on the tumor so that the cell will die and it will drop off eventually? The question is, Should i leave the tumor there or try the method above? Anybody tried tat before?
