my hamster only wants to eat kuachi & no other hamster food....i scared he dont get all the nutrients. Should i buy all kinds of hamster food & let him try one by one until he found the "right" one for him to eat or is there any tips that can make him eat the hamster food?

sorry to hear the sad story, did they show any sign of pain or sickness like wet tail? robo hardly fall sick n die like that. and somemore you say frozen over there like die instantly, is ur robo environment too hot? i mean heaty without any good ventilation. Through your story seem like heat stroke. cry.gif

as i check on them everyday, they did not show any kind of sign. cos i take them out daily just to run around a lil. no wet tail. i usually put them in shaded places before i leave for work, far from sunlight. but yesterday weather was hot. could dat be the caused?i leave my room fan on all the time, but i do close my window.

maybe, cause so far i see all the info about robo sudden death, is either get wet tail, due to over stress heat condition "heat stroke" , or virus /disease infection. Cause i not sure where u bring ur robo to run around a little, is it in the room or living room or out field rclxub.gif and some more your robo is not die of old age, as just a few month.

Morning~~icic, ya mostly i also doing the same thing let him run over the room, but ill put tower cloth to prevent the ball hit the wall, as it will cause impact n noise that will disturb the robo inside it. Best is smth to cover or reduce the impact on solid matter. So bro th other left, wht else you want to prevent it? hope can list in detail so i can help u out to search any info related to the situation, trying my best to help up ^^ cheers. thumbup.gif

Hi regarding your situation, it is much better if you read up some info about breeding a hamster or accidentally the hamster breed small litters. When hamster giving birth to their new generation aka BABY, is best we dont disturb the nursing mummy.

Check this webby and answer for your concern , i find it sufficient and helpful for your encounter, if still not sure can message me cheers thumbup.gif

Morning fendy 87 , regarding bathing hamster is really really not advisable , you can purchase the bath sand in pet shop + bath toilet too, whereas all hamster also know hw to clean up neatly, no need for us to worry about their hygiene . AS they do a much better job compare to us bathing them. The best way to prevent your hamster smelly is to make sure the environment is CLEAN and water have to be change latest by 3 to 4 days. To prevent bacteria from growing in the water bottle. Since you love to hold him, pet shack got sell 1 item to reduce the smell of hamster, and is friendly towards hamster too, you might consider that. Cheers

hi sillysu, nice to hear from u again. seeing your robo go through this phase is definitely is heart saddening. but with both hind legs paralysis , and without moving, either your robo fight during the night and damage his spinal cord or smth else, if confirm both the hind legs cant move mostly is spinal cord suffer some damage. Well sillysu going to vet you must need to be mentally prepare as vet fees sometime will cost a boom, but it depends on each situation. Well sometime for our love 1, how much is cost wont affect us much as this is our responsible, like caring for our siblings or parents too.

so far i found this article , see whether it can help u out? http://roborovskihamsters.webs.com/apps/fo...legs-?page=last

haha sure no problem, ya due to the small tunnel n limited space, robo should do find in the ovo pad. really cute seeing them running here n there through ovo, is really different compare to mini habitral cage. lol thumbup.gif

Added on November 23, 2010, 9:58 amoh ya sillysu, you can called up some vet clinic, to check with them and see. let's the expert vet doc to examine the situation and check on the price also , like estimation how much.
