oh for roboski, no worry any tank with much space is prefer. as they love to run around. so as long u see ur room can fit nicely a comfrotable plastic is good enough d. but make sure dont place the tank at hot place or humid place , best with a good ventilation.

Added on December 20, 2010, 4:59 pmfor young syrian is enough for sure, but once they grow bigger, can change to other tanks, like plastic or glass tank. glass tank is nice to snap shop and it looks good, while plastic is good also easy to handle as is light and easy to wash. Make sure using plastic tank place at a good ventilantion area , as plastic tends to get hot without good ventilation. hope ur syrian have a great home too.

hohoh congrates finally uou get ur vitakraft menu, sure ur hammie will be superb happy. u can notice their fur getting nice n thick, my 4 winter white all cubby till like ball hahaha. the final they will eat is the pellet

ah sipek sad, my 5 litters , 3 pear white dead due to canabalism, then left 2 agouti.. 1st time pregnancy by the mama T________T sad sad

yesterday i just come bk shopping chirstmas stuff for my hamster. ya the pet shop at cheras around my area just enter their new syrian, and the quality is good too. the location is at taman len sen cheras. behind connaught. the pet shop name fei aquarium, pricing wise, much more cheaper compare outside shop like pet shack, mid valley pet shop n others. reasonable i should put it tht way.

oh just come bk from vacation, wht did i miss out lately hehehe.

as long is winter white breed can mix together. either is agouti sapphire or pearl. mine got 1 cage is male agouti n sapphire so far all living peacefully. but sometime thy will kacau each other so you will hear their squeaky sound. but just keep an eye as some ww tend to be more bully. some is just calm n get along well. as long same sex is much prefer n get a female together better. if male too much u know they tend to fight. but if female get along well. it can last forever too

hi ohiki, my wife still insist want to keep the 2 fella agouti n sapphire... give me sometime to nego with her a while. for sure later on sure headache when i not around.. hahah ladies. hardly give things aways. hope you understand. btw my 1 couple of ww is mating now. expecting new litters on jan 2011 12th or 15th. by the time can go for adoption will be on feb after chinese new years. all my litters is going for adoption for those who really take care of them. cheers bro

LOL well hamster is like tht. dont worry much about it ohiki and ske. as long thy run happily , dont hv wet fur is ok. whether they love th sand bath or not, sooner or later will learn how to use 1. and sure they love it. =D plus they drink water not tht much, just 3 days make sure u change their water. to prevent bacteria to grow too. cheers guys

btw ohiki, you can go for vitakraft, mine been feeding vitakraft since i own them,vitrakraft premium and vitakraft dinner. is best for them ^^ you will know why when u bought 1.

non scent much prefer. =D ~~ took me 2 hours to clean up 5 CAGES of hamster. @@ pengsan me

i mix with vitakraft premium and vitakraft dinner . premium have lots of grain inside, but u can see the hamster wont eat the pellet. so once every 2 days, you have to change the left over. ^^ so far they love it. and the dinner 1 is much better compare to others vitakraft, but it cost abit for the price.

omg ur winter white, really chubby, u feed high protein food for him/ her? really eat n sleep,sleep n eat i guess. cute n chubby indeed. yup, thy dont like the pellet stuff and the triangle too. mine also like tht, will see tht lots left over. well if thy stay active without that , dont worry much, they will eat but in small portion only. that y hamster food u got see alot of mix n match ingredient to suit them ^^

lol. got view them at midnight around 12am or 1am? they should be very busy running the wheel or climbing the cage d. mine run like mad... LOL can generate the electric power if got dynamo hehehe.

lol you guys, dont too over train eh,hamster does not hv high iq to know every bit of training we provide for them. Well we get hamster as pet cause they are cute and see their natural style and behaviour, if keep on thinking to train it and turn it into smth we like, is like becoming robot hamster d ><"" well that my personal opinion. As long they are healthy and run freely , socialised nicely with each others, is good enough. whether they potty train, or know how to use the sand bath, finish up the pellets, that's not the big issue. cause we going to change their bedding once every week, or twice. cheers guys.

Added on January 7, 2011, 11:30 pmfor hamster nails, dont try to trim it on your own, unless you know wht to do. provide a rough surface or smth they can scratch on ,can help to shorten down the nails. i do provide sand paper, but use the most fine sand paper to lay 1 part of the cage, where the hamster spend most of his time around, i provide a rock smth like the waterfall rock in their cage, so they to scratch around the rock sometimes. so far dont hv any nails problem. =D

congrates for your WW female for giving off their new off spring at this new year. Regarding to your question
1. separate out the male asap but dont disturb the nursing mum.
2. seperate the babies at 3 to 4 weeks of time,when u see they open their eyes, tht the best time to separate them
3 for the new litters, separate them according to their own sex. male in1 cage ,female the others. to prevent intercross breeding among family members, if the 1st 1 inter cross breeding is still ok, wont do any serious dmg, but prevent it is the best way. put the father n mother in different cage too, always dont mix with adults hamster, as this will cause in fighting due to different scent.

hamster differentiate themselves using scent.

for the nursing mum now, provide clean water every 3 alternative days, if you have LC-VIT syrup is better to mix together in the water bottle.
let the mum nurse their litters for 3 weeks without changing their bedding, i know is going to stink so make sure a good ventilation area, and less noisy area for her .
after 3 weeks separate them, let the mum rest for 1 month plus or so on, so that if can recover her body and restore bk to healthy self.
feed the food with high protein, like soak the breed with milk, but provide in small quantity, if finish top up, if got left over throw it. to prevent fungus or mold growing.
eggs can be provide too for her.

hope you have success full new ww soon, oh ya if the female cannibalism her youngs1, dont feel so sad about it, sometimes is due to her 1st time pregnancy and cut down the litters amount, or she sense the litters is not healthy to survive future. cheers mate.

ya father seems understand , but is better to move out the father, let mum nurse the kids alone. as through my pass experience, i encounter i left the dad together with them, end up something not happy happen. cannabalism. to prevent tht or minimise it , better move out the dad. seem cruel but to give the best to the new off spring too

putting them together wont fight, as they were born n live together till 3 weeks. but to prevent any pregnancy happen is prefer to separate them. well hamster with kids, we hv alot of thing to consider n put in place ^^
