ic, mayb i have to do some research 1st..... not that confident to do it tongue.gif

for screw driver, is it any small 1 will do? as long as the shape is correct?

There are many tutorials out there on the web.
Just so you know, different revisions has different placement of the screws and also different way of taking the entire system apart.

sony wont advice you to open up the PS3 and clean it, if they do so they cant void your warranty. laugh.gif

Unless your warranty is long gone.... laugh.gif

I opened my PS3 on the second day I bought it to check what the heck is inside.

Then you'll never open it.
Its easier than it looks....

Heck, taking apart a PS3 is easier than re-aranging furnitures in your house.

wanna ask, the ps3 nyko intercooler......is it good for ps3? i mean will it helps?

any1 tried before? tongue.gif
*
Honestly, it isn't.
The cooler exhaust air from the PS3, which in theory is supposed to help the PS3 in better cooling.

But what most reviewers get wrong is that they're feeling the air from the cooler itself, not the PS3. So tell me, if that helps.
Not only that, the cooler does get in the way of the PS3's air efficiency in the system to escape through its vents. Also, you're adding more noise.

In conclusion, no its not good.

Afrika free dynamic theme is at the Japan PSN Store.
No need to provide any link.

As for LBP, you have to shell out $3 on the US PSN store.

Got a question here...If i want to record gameplay in HD any idea what should i use? I'm thinking of hauppauge hd pvr but there's like non sold here in malaysia  sweat.gif
*
Forget all those crappy Hauppauge, K-world, etc.
They're useless, you'd barely be able to record in 720p.

Get the Blackmagic Intensity: http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/intensity/
Very pricey yes, $199 USD. But if you really want HD quality capture, this is it.

Yea, Gamersyde and Gametrailers both use Intensity to record their vids. Although GT always downscale their videos quality however.

Pretty much crap. Their so called HDTV tuners cost around RM600+ last I saw, and isn't really that pleasing either. You can go to LYP to find some of them though.

hey guys... i've been trying 2 solve a prob in my hse...
i have setup the ps3 in the living hall..every now n then, thr always seem to be a debate abt watching tv or playing games thr...
i hv a 30 lcd upstairs...is thr anyway i cud find a device which cud transmit ps3's video signal wirelessly either hdmi or component vid?
any1 in this prob b4?
thx for the help n comments
*
No you can't transmit video wirelessly to the video upstairs.
First, we just don't have the technology to transmit such high bandwidth wirelessly. Its ridiculous, especially in this country.

Second, HDMI and component cannot transmit wireless video signals.

Third and finally, why in the world won't you just move your PS3 upstairs and play it on the TV instead? Thats redudant no? blink.gif

I would like to know how well it works if i buy the PS2 controller adapter from Sony for PS3 and hook up my Dualshock 2 & a 3rd Party Fighting Stick for PS2? The adapter cost around rm80++ it's still cheaper than buying a PS3 fightstick or a DS3, but want to know if there's any problem?
*
There shouldn't be any problems I'd say.
However using a DS2 means that you won't have SIXAXIS in games. Not like it is a major feature or anything though....

QUOTE(gnsumas @ Sep 6 2009, 10:04 PM)
Ben,

Do you happen to know what the price of an Intensity is at Macasia?

Do you think they'd give discount if a few people buy Multibridge one shot?
*
Emmm.... I saw from MacAsia in Great Eastern Mall a couple of months ago, the Intensity is around RM799.
I think if you buy a bulk for the Multibridge, you'd certainly get something close to dealer's prices.

However, last I saw was that there are only 2 units left for the Multibridge and the boss told me they aren't having any plans to bring any more in the near future.

Actually, for HL2's case.... it remains no.
Online for the game is still horrifically, bad. Thats the way it is, because the game was a half-assed port from the PC.

Answered a million times already....
TROPHIES ARE TIED TO YOUR ACCOUNT.

Unless Kaz Hirai went nuts and took an axe into PlayStation database centre to chop down every single server, your trophies remains.

of course i know my trophies remain...
I'm asking if i will lose the trophy tracking screen...
you know, the screen where it displays % of the trophies i've acquired for that game and which trophy i've obtained/not yet obtain

kthx
*
Then you just answered your own question. sweat.gif
Trophies are tied to your account and automatically that means that all of your stats, which are remaining trophies or trophies obtained are recorded with your account.

IINM, the servers for KZ2 are located relative to their regions. If you joing the US server, obviously it is hosted by SCEA. SCEE in EU, SCEJ in Jap and of course SCE HK (or Asia) in HK itself (which represents Asia region).

Hey guys, whats the diff between Y-splitter and the female plug adapter thinggy?? confusing laaa rclxub.gif
*
You're confusing your ownself.
Female plug - Related to all jacks with a hole for your to input a male connector.
Male plug - Opposite of the female, a connector which is used to connect to a female jack.

If you think of it as "sex" for electronics, you'll understand it immediately. smile.gif

Y-splitter is basically a converter for 2 RCA audio to be connected and then converted as a 3.5mm connector. Used for connecting to speakers which has AUX input or soundcards/on-board motherboard sound as a Line-In connection.

See you're just confusing yourself.
If you just understand what is male and what is female, you won't be confused. Its that simple.

If pirated DVD...then the risk of your lens to kaput very high.. shocking.gif

Not all.

"Good" piraters burn their DVDs at very low speeds and do correct checks as well as verifying the data after burning.
Not going to burst anyone's bubbles here, but these "good" pirates are the distributors for the so called "original" (or local printed) movies sold mostly in Speedy or some decent video shops.

QUOTE(vaan321 @ Sep 24 2009, 02:23 PM)
hi, all

i just ordered a hp2309m(solely for my ps3, no other stuff connect to it) and waiting for it to arrive on monday tongue.gif
now i'm switching my ps3 slim from sdtv to that monitor via hdmi...anything to calibrate? or the ps3/monitor will detect the hdmi connection automatically?

btw, there is one question that bounces out of my mind, the games that support 480p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p, if i'm playing using hdmi and set the resolution on the ps3 to support 480p, 720p, 1080p(because 2309m can support 1080p)...when the game runs, will it automatically choose the best resolution? (ie 1080p)? thx
*
You don't have to set anything before hand really.
The monitor will show 480p, and from there you can set 720p, 1080p.

As for games, it'll depend.
Games that has support to upscale to 1080p, it'll automatically upscale. If it is a game locked in 720p, it'll only display 720p. So it is important that you have 720p enabled.
Because if not, the game would run in 480p.
