I'm not too sure.Sometimes, it may be the HDMI silicon in the PS3 being the fault.
A full system reset may fix the problem, but don't bet on it.

QUOTE(economist @ Nov 9 2009, 06:20 PM) one of the ps3 mysteries! This is what I did for a couple of people last time.Added on November 9, 2009, 6:24 pm but i alredi tried the below LCD - LG cables 2 - 1 thin and 1 braided (both cap ayam) my ps3 - thin ok..... braided not ok my fren's - thin ok.......braided ok but slight interference.... so just curious wat is the prob...... When they had flickering, I saw that they have 1080i and 1080p checked and enabled. All I did was disable 1080i and 720p all-together and the flickering stopped. For games locked in 720p, they simply switch back to 720p and play instead. A hindrance maybe, but it solves the problem. I don't know if it'll help you, but maybe worth a check. QUOTE(shahreza2000 @ Nov 9 2009, 06:25 PM) Theres a possibility, but it isn't high.Since the scaler is connected to both resolutions, if the TV has problems 720p won't display properly too. |

QUOTE(geekster129 @ Nov 10 2009, 09:45 PM) Updating using USB drive? Yeah, at least that's what the documentation is saying. How I miss the days when a product sucks, you just gotta stuck it up and live with it.Yup. HDTVs today are not just a display device but they have a small computer within the set itself which actually does a lot of things (graphics processing such as scaling between different resolutions, predictive image processing, sound processing, and even encryption/decryption for the HDCP handshake process). In other words, they are one complicated device. Even a normal set-top Blu-Ray player appliance has an Ethernet port in it that allows firmware update via the Internet. Speaking about Blu-Ray players, I came across an Aquos billboard today and they claimed they have a built-in Blu-ray player in it. Unlike today everyone's pampered.... |

QUOTE(sengwee1988 @ Nov 13 2009, 02:29 PM) Hi guys, I have a ps3 phat and maybe plan to buy ps3 slim, if I buy ps3 slim, can i backup all my save games from the phat and use it on the slim if i sign in with all the same psn accounts using same username and password or I have to unlock everything from the ps3 slim all over again?? You can only copy saves that are not copy-protected.For the games that has its save file copy-protected, you're just going to need to start everything again. |

QUOTE(Aeiou11 @ Nov 13 2009, 10:29 PM) Ok guys, I know it is lame. But just now my bro n me had a debate over PS3 VS PC topic. It seems like he has some strong points about PC is superior than PS3. So please gimme some reasons why I should buy PS3 rather than PC for gaming? Thanks. And why are you posting this in the beginner's thread? |

QUOTE(slevinra @ Nov 18 2009, 08:40 PM) Sorry if this has been asked before. Can I make and name my own folder in the video section under my XMB? I would prefer to create and name my own folders rather than sort them alphabetically. I'm using a PS3 slim by the way. Thanks. Press Triangle on the video you want to name a folder in.Then go to Info, at near the bottom you can set the album name for the video. Just enter whatever initials you'd like and any other videos as well you want for the same folder. So for example: I download Pulse episode 1. Then I download Pulse episode 2. I want them in a same folder where I would name as just Pulse Videos. All I do is head into my Pulse videos info section and set the album name to Pulse Videos. It is indeed a little bit weird as many are used to: Create New Folder > Name Folder > Dump whatever you want inside. |

gnsumas is getting there to be a HDTV expert....
I generally despise Full RGB on a HDTV though, as it does mess up color accuracy quite about. Especially if it is a plasma. Full RGB is however give or take, essential on monitors on the other hand. |

QUOTE(TitaniumZ @ Nov 23 2009, 08:54 PM) Because I want to share speaker between ps3 and computer and lazy to pull-out-plug-in the cable QUOTE(TitaniumZ @ Nov 23 2009, 08:57 PM) I haven't purchase ps3 yet... saving money now. Just wonder if pass through sound card the audio will lag or not? No problems with that.Because, I am doing EXACTLY what you're trying to say. Albeit I'm not doing a 5.1 setup but instead a custom 4.2 setup (4 sats, 2 subs). There won't be audio lag as long as you don't overload your input. QUOTE(Double_Ace @ Nov 23 2009, 08:58 PM) Hi guys i'm planning of getting a PS3 so i can play modern warfare online and i'm a nood with gadgets what i would like to know is once i hook my internet wire to PS3 can online and play already or must configure stuff and i have only a normal tv can play??? QUOTE(bestdo @ Dec 1 2009, 07:28 PM) guys, to connect my ps3 into an old monitor i need a VGA box and a component cable huh?? How much is it and where can i get it in around Lowyat plaza? QUOTE(bestdo @ Dec 1 2009, 08:10 PM) You aren't specific enough. There are alot of meanings to "old monitor". An old monitor can be a CRT which is 10 years old, or it can also be an early-generation LCD monitor which is 7 years old. So which is which? You didn't clarify. You can get VGA Box from The Hub or All IT at LYP. |

QUOTE(thewayiam @ Dec 3 2009, 03:24 AM) hey guys, my ps3 had a red blinking light incident earlier on. and it wouldnt turn back on. after i've offed the back switch of the ps3, it seems to be fine but im still kinda worried. i've been reading around and most of them get the red blinking light and later on ...a yellow one. That means you haven't read enough.anyone experienced a red blinking light but later on fine? thanks Blinking red light means alot of things, it may just be an improper shutdown that causes the red light to blink several times as the PS3 tries to terminate any process that is still running for a forced shutdown or restart. |

Theoritically, that's right.
But you can always emulate 7.1 sound by forcing your sound card to output in 7.1 instead. I connected my PS3 via the standard A/V 2-channel stereo cable to my soundcard. But I'm emulating a 5.1/4.2 surround sound setup, may not feel the same as a real 5.1 setup, but it is pretty damn close. The best thing? Its way cheaper than buying a 5.1 set of speakers. QUOTE(yeakhon @ Dec 7 2009, 04:56 PM) Hi guys, RM160 or so.Some question here. How much does DualShock 3 cost? I wanted to buy one to use on PC(weird, I know), and maybe in future for my PS3. Also anyone tried DS3 on PC? Thanks you. You need custom drivers to use it on the PC unlike the 360's controller where you can just plug n' play from the get go. |
