hehe.. just few days ago i bought the hpw starter kit n the honey. Then the instruction say 375g honey. The honey bottle says 500g honey. So i pour it into the measuring cup but the whole bottle only reached 350g o.0  lol..
QUOTE(jolenelarhhs @ Sep 14 2009, 09:14 PM)
they gt write 1½ cups (375g).. i bought from petshack too..  i scraped all out d.. + add abit warm water in stir then pour out also.. clean clean.. LOL
Do the instructions say 375g or 375ml?? There is a difference between (g) grams and (ml) millimetres

okay i tried to touch it 30 minutes ago , when taking it out while it was resting in his house is the easy part and i touched and cuddle its head for almost 5 minutes , and i think he felt calm at the moment then he came out from the house and then it started to afriad and peeping everywhere ! i tried to hold it back to its house but ended up it jumping to me while crabbing ! its like a nightmare ! scary! and at last i moved it back home with a Glove!

well u can have ur smelly shirt on hand next time u bring him out lol so if he got startlet or scard just cover him with the shirt and cup him up then gentlely put him back to the cage togather the shirt so u dun need the glove lah

its normal for suggie to pee and poo when we newly handle them in new home coz its thier nature to empty thier bowel when scared lol this will lessen when he bonded to u

Some joeys tend to be more timid and some are calmer with people. It also depends if the joeys had been handled before or not when they were younger. Like me, I handle my joeys right when they OOP. So they don't really mind handling but once awhile I get either a timid joey or a hyperactive joey. A timid one would be crabby, and scared of new sounds and sudden movement. A hyperactive one would be a joey that cannot stop jumping around and cannot sit still because so curious.

You have to do bonding step by step. Let your joey get used to your smell, then do pouch bonding. Carry the bonding pouch where ever you go during the day time. It doesn't matter if the joey crabs alot when in its pouch, it would be scared of the movement and sudden sounds at first but after awhile, it will stop and get used to it. I got gliders that don't really care if I swing the bonding pouch at any direction, they would just sleep in it. Now it is the crucial time for your joey to accept you as its playmate, as its friend, as its care giver. You should avoid using gloves. You should not let your joey roam about your room when it is not bonded to you because you will have a hard time catching him back and you may scare it more. You should use your hands for it to walk on. Let it get used to your touch, to walk on your hands and up your arms. Hand feed and do lots of touching and talking to calm it.

I got 1 friend, she got a joey from me and it didn't crab or run away from her at all. Like instant bond since day 1. Another friend who bought a joey from me took 2 days to gain the joeys trust, another friend took 1 month to develop a close bond, and another took a week. So it depends if the joey reacts to you and also how determine and patient you are.

Bonding pouch is important. Coz when we bring the joey around, it will get used to our smell, our voice, our touch, our warmth. It shortens bonding time and it trains the joey to know that you are the safe tree.

Yes, you gently place your joey inside the pouch. Coz it is not used to it, so you have to let it know that the pouch is safe. What you can do is take away your sleeping pouch in your cage and put the bonding pouch in. Once your joey is asleep inside the bonding pouch, zip it up and take it out. Yes, the crabbing will stop once it gets used to you. I can't really say when will the joey get used to your smell. It just will. Once they trust you and know that you are their safe tree or safe person, they will recognize your smell and your appearance. When I place joeys in new people or stranger's hands, they will climb or jump back to me coz the new people are strange to them. They recognize by smell and touch. I know crabbing is scary. Bear with it for a week or 2, then it should lessen once the joey knows you and knows that the bonding pouch is safe.

Where did you get the grasshopper? Is it safe? Are you sure it is pesticide and parasite free if you caught it? It is not safe to feed wild insects.

And pulling the tail to hang a glider is WRONG. You will most likely hurt the tail and nerve. It can cause damage.
