QUOTE(saramelia @ Aug 31 2009, 11:04 PM) 3ft cage is still selling at rm100. RM160 is included courier fee. Don forget their website is for those who want to purchase online. QUOTE(scopio124 @ Sep 1 2009, 12:06 AM) this post may seems a little bit unappropriated here. But after all the research i done, i realize that sugar glider require more care and love then i can offer. Thus now i decide to get a pair of guinea pig instead of sugar glider. This may seems like a betrayer, but i do have some question that i desperately need some answer. U shud do the same thing, study bout gp at gp thread. Then learn their diet, behavior, anatomy and etc. And evaluate urself. Last time when i planning to get a sugar glider, pet shop like pets wonderland seems like an unappropriated place for buying pet. Wondering anyone have the experience of buying guinea pig from place like pets wonderland? or any other recommend pet shop? Appreciate any of your help in advance. I realize this is a tread for sugar glider, but i can't help myself for posting my question here, becoz this is the mosty active tread in pet section i have seen. Hopefully i can get my answer here No worry, is better that u realize glider doesnt suits u b4 u get them. |

QUOTE(shienshien @ Sep 1 2009, 12:06 PM) Dear All SG owner, welcome. I am consider very and indeed TERRIBLY new to SG. do you mind if i join your forum as a member? I just got my 2 months old (according to the seller) SG 2 days ago. Lots to learn from and have been reading the SG BIBLE (hahaha) for the pass 2 days. This forum really informative and i get lots of information through here like VETS and etc. However, there are something that i would like to ask here, hope you guys and gals dont mind to provide some advice to this newcomer here. 1. my glider can take solid food from the day i got it. i have been giving them pear and red apple at this time. I read somewhere mention i need to blend the fruits and vegetable (is it any vegetable or a few particular, such as?) together with Honey, apple juice and warm water, then put it in the freeze. The question is: a) Honey: any honey that is sold in the market b) Apple juice: fresh like marigold or blend with actual fruit c) what kind of protein that i need to mix with this? d) do i still need to add vits since this already has fruit? e) i also read somewhere mentioned about blending the food together with HAM (and particular) 2. i feel like i have been con to buy a small glass cage, really small, trust me. but its my fault for not checking out the info earlier before i buy it. that's all for now, looking forward for some advice. hehehe, may try to get the second SG later, pity her, so lonely in the cage. Thanks. a) Blending fruit and vege together is jus a method to ensure ur glider eats everything and do not give them opportunity to choose what they like to eat. Use processed/filtered honey, do not use RAW honey. Get a better brand as a lot china brand honey contains additional sugar. b) of course fresh juices is better, but if u can get it, jus buy those marigold/ceres juices (preservatives and sugar free) c) Protein? I assume u never feeed any staple diet. Pls get yourself BML/HPW diet, and serve mixed vege and fruits together with the staple diet everyday. Those diets are designed for gliders, we don simply chunk in fruits, eggs and honey then create our own recipe. d) What kind of vitamins you wan to add? There are a lot other glider supplements, with diff diff functions. This is a guideline for u in choosing glider vit/supplement. http://www.sugarglidershere.com/reviews-pr...re-vitamins.htm e) HAM?? You can feed boiled chicken breast, make sure u take off all the skin and fat... Note that feeding vege and fruits only does not fulfill glider needs. You nid to decide whether which diet you are goingn to use. Added on September 1, 2009, 12:53 pmOh, bout the cage. Since you know it's really small, change it asap. Proper cage size and diet is essential for gliders. These are the BASIC things u nid to get. This post has been edited by eric138: Sep 1 2009, 12:53 PM |

QUOTE(shienshien @ Sep 1 2009, 01:06 PM) Hi, thanks for all your advice. What kind of cage u bought? What is the size?I just brought a new cage. the salesperson make me spend another 150 for the extra cage and unnecessary wood piece that i have purchase. Anotehr question. the based of the cage is not flat (only soft wire string), how is SG going to rest like that yeah? i bought the pouch just now but sometimes SG wont go in right, they will just rest at one spot. can i use any recycle cloth to make it as the cage base? Added on September 1, 2009, 1:07 pmi just bought the mealworm and normal yogurt. should i feed it myself (yogurt) or just leave 2 spoon on the pot? recommedned Morning or evening for yogurt? I assume u bought a 3ft cage, because the price is bout 100.. If not, mayb you got a cage that is not suitable for glider again. For 3ft, you can jus leave the base there, underneath the base shud hav a tray for u to put bedding. Usually glider will go in the pouch and sleep if he/she learnt how to use the pouches. Wood? Make sure it's not pine wood because it's toxic for gliders. Wash and sundry the toys/branches you use for ur glider. Gutload the mealworms b4 u feed. For yogurt, pls get low fat one... You can dip ur finger in the yogurt then let ur glider lick, it helps in bonding. Don really encourage u to serve on plate, because the yogurt will spoil after sometime. There is no any particular time to feed our glider. Explore your glider eating time. However, yogurt is not the main diet for them, that is treats. Make sure you decide quickly and get ur glider a proper diet asap. |

Velvet doesnt absorb water.. and it's very hard to clean velvet fabric.. |

Still, I would prefer flannel or fleece rather than velvet. Both are more soft and comfy than velvet, and extremely breathable. But fleece is bit thick, for bonding pouch prefer flannel material.
Yup. Go ahead and use it. |

not all bed sheet made from flannel...
I think most of the bed sheet made from cotton.... Flannel is bit too hot for those who stay in non-air cond room... |

erm..is a very interesting article..
However, as what the author said, it's really up to you to believer or not. At least, it works well on him. For me, i do not want to use this method, because 1) It's too stressful for the glider, esp those newly homed joey. 2) I do not want to 'dominant' my gliders, i do not want them to feel afraid of me. I wan them stop biting me because they feel secure with me, but not scare of me. 3) You never know the 'grasp' serves as the 'negative reinforcement' or it becomes a traumatic experience for your glider. Keeping gliders require our at least 10-15years commitment, and i believe with unconditional patience, love and care, eventually the glider will adapt and accept the owner. Look at SCC, her bella is a wild glider when SCC first adopted her. But after a period of hardwork and effort, now Bella is much more better. Using the method in the article sounds more like forcing the glider to accept the owner. But the 'grasp' method can be used when you wan to stop your glider from attacking you... |

becareful when u let her free roam in the room... Those sockets, extension and wires may endanger your glider.
