Finally got my internet connection back.. biggrin.gif

So many updates...

Welcome to the thread glidermama...now officially u are mother of a glider. biggrin.gif

The psst psst sound should be hissing as others said.. could be he feel annoyed/irritating when your daughter trying to handle him while he is not in good mood...or he don like ur sound when you talking to ur hubby.. biggrin.gif

It takes time for your glider to cope up with new diet and adjust back his body health. Don rush on it..if u r on the right track, i am sure eventually he can grow healthier and healthier..

I'm not sure how big is ur glider exactly, so cant really determine the reason why he refuse to eat... In case if you really worry he didnt take in any food, jus syringe him the milk every 3hours... I did that on Money last time..

After syringe for a month or less, you will realize he grow bigger and able to consume food by himself.. biggrin.gif

Btw..Money is not my first glider.. sad.gif My first glider died few years back already. sad.gif

Afiq, try to get a better quality honey. Usually those cheaper wan added a lot sugar inside.

My first batch of hpw i used capilano.. After use for sometime, i realize the honey changed color!! (Because i use instant hpw) .. So i quickly change to manuka until now.

One bottle can last you approx 4months if you only got one glider.. so i think it's kinda worth it...

there r a lots of honey in the market, price ranged from rm10++ - RM100++ ... And i guess all of the honey printed '100% pure honey' on the packaging right? biggrin.gif

I'm not asking everyone to stop using capilano, jus offer a better option.. biggrin.gif

If you can afford rm33 for one bottle of manuka honey, and it can be used for 4months, why don you go for it? biggrin.gif

Of course, if you hav 5, 6 gliders with you, each month you hav to buy 1-2 bottle of honey..then you can jus use normal processed honey if you cant afford to get manuka...Not everyone like Shazman get Kordell Manuka for all his gliders... tongue.gif

For those who spent a lot for themselves in clothing, shopping and etc, but not willing to offer better life for their pets, i think they are not a good owner..

But for those who doesnt offer luxury life to their pets but they are doing the best they can do..i think they are the real pets lover.. biggrin.gif

when you see ur glider getting healthier and healthier, playing actively and manja with you, everything is worthy.

Esp for those underaged glider, i do believe the healing properties within manuka honey help to reconstructure and adjust back their internal development.

I need some help or views on my gliders
I hv 2 gliders and it has been like 2 and a half months
Since I first bought them

Till today , these gliders doesnt seem to bond with me
I gave them yogurt drops as treats
Hpw , fruits and all
Like what I've read

Bond with them in a tent
But they're still scared of me
Its not normal rght ?
They still crab at me
And ran away when I try to take them out

What can I do ?
Someone, please tell me : \
*
Bonding process takes time. Some gliders can spend u only few days then can stay on ur shoulder quietly (like my Lara), some may takes months only stop crabbing but still jump away (like my Sheila)...

Don give up and keep repeat the bonding methods.. The more effort u put, the faster ur glider will adapt to u. The main key in glider bonding is sustaining..

Nope. You don hav to shower them using water. Glider is good in cleaning and grooming themselves.

You can wipe their body using alcohol and fragrance free wet wipes.

Ok... i get what u mean... ur male is dominant...haha...

Jus separate the food and put in two different bowl and place at different place... Let's say one hang up high on the cage one at ground...This would help.. biggrin.gif

Jolene is right..

If you change owner, it may takes longer time to bond with the glider. Adult glider already fully developed, and they hv their own characteristics formed.. they unlike young joey who is still naive and adapt to people easily.

Of course, if the adult glider is well taken care and every use to human interaction, it's much easier for new owner to handle over. If the glider has really bad experience with people, of course you will find much more difficult to bond with it - his will be more defensive than the first one..

Glider do not hav really good memory. They wil forget you if you didnt handle them for a period of time.

I'm not encouraging owner swapping.. tongue.gif Every glider owner should prepare the mental structure for the commitment of 15years in keeping glider. But, anythng may happen.

@jolene & glidermama, my gliders bark almost everynite....

@Monkeydude, nope, you wont see blood when a female glider is on heat. If you r observant enough, you will find the female changes in behavioral when she is on heat.

What we do? If you keep 2 female glider in a cage, nothing will happen... if you keep an on heat female glider with another intact male glider, she will attract the male and mate. After 16days, the babies will crawl into the mother's pouch if the mate session is a successful one.

haa.. Good Question..

Added on August 28, 2009, 4:41 pmBark Bark??? how come?? bark like dog??
*
How come? A glider owner should know barking, crabbing, hissing...

Yes, is like small puppy barking. A sound glider produce for mate calling.

If ur glider is a single glider and she barks, usually she is calling for the owner. If they are in group, then probably they calling for other glider..
