Charge: I read something about SL/SM grade above will cause camshaft wearout for flat tapet, like those on motorcycles, because it lacks ZDDF. These oils you post are for car application, no?
Good thing about Penrite as it says no friction modifier, so works for bikes with wet clutch la, still not sure about the ZDDF. Royal Purple? I learn about it through my bike readings. Highly recommended. Notice the floor mat of my TZR250 avatar... hahaha. One thing i notice about the oil packaging... the more fancy it is, the worse it performs. Look at the swooshes and colors on the Castrol and Elf. If I didn't know better, I'd buy the Elf. |

Charge: I just got a call from the SIN distributor. It's dirt cheap. Looking for some forwarder to carry those stuff. Need to find out payment method as well. Looking to buy 2T also.
Are_keem: Royal Purple no joke one, only fully synthetic. Bizzy: The price RM300 for the rim only eh? Not include brake set. |

Charge: I only asked about 2T. He did mention about a distributor in KL, will mail him tomorrow for details. u can goggle their email.
About ZDDP, I read it while looking up on API oil standards for motorbikes. Was wondering why no API SM while car oil is already there. It's Zinc/Phosphor additive during low oil pressure, esp for metal-metal surface during cold start. Anything above API SG is bad for bikes with non-roller valves. Should look out for JASO MA, or JASO MA2. More here: http://www.motorcycleanchor.com/motorcycle..._to/mc_oil.html Anyone wants original Japan made DID 428H or 428 O-rings? Added on October 15, 2009, 8:46 pmBtw, guys. I think a slightly modded LC can out-accelerate and out-top RGV. Boh-syiok now. This post has been edited by alexei: Oct 15 2009, 08:46 PM |

TryX: Thanks mate. I'm thinking a Lagenda mod, cheaper bah. RGV not much spares or mod parts around, let me know if you know any. Mine is still thoroughbred stock loh...
Suhail, for long distance, I would prefer smaller rear sprocket. Reason being higher cruising speed at lower RPM. In fact, I just stocked some chains for myself, O-rings and 428Hs which taukeh say good deal, just asking if any of you interested. Mind you, these chains are heavier, and need maintain every 500km. Right now, pickup is very light, topspeed 140 at 8k RPM. So plan to change to smaller rear sprocket to bump up another 10~20kmh. Rarely full throttle, half at most, coz doesn't seem to benefit pickup, topspeed stuck at 80% throttle. My guess is the engine really has much room for improvement. |

Hi RainingZero: thanks for the advice... but my bad for not introducing myself. I'm yet to be an LC owner... just a frequent fan of this forum - good people, topics and no BS. Other LYN forums are have angry and rude ppl at times.
Guys, TT anytime? Samba, TryX? I'll be away for 6months starting 26th Nov, day after Malaysian MotoGP. |

QUOTE(suhail92 @ Oct 16 2009, 02:07 PM) What's your current size, is it stock?I would reduce 3~4 gear on the rear sprocket. No need to change chain if not loose. To test this out, tarik the chain that is around the rear sprocket, if you can lift it off the sprocket, the chain is loose. |

How did the RGV sound like? Just change exhaust can already flip the odds. Mine super-stock, only with a cheapo mushroom filter from previous owner. Don't have a choice, since he threw away the ori airbox.
Ok, charge, tonight 12 midnight, see you at 秋明山. Alright, for the time being, since I don't know u and likewise, I'll pick dog-fights with any green LC with a GiVi box... til the day we meet. (So sad.) |

virtually it is, TT then only practically.
By 'pulling off', do you mean at quarter throttle, you can out-accelerate an RGV? This post has been edited by alexei: Oct 16 2009, 06:17 PM |

If use bigger block, to change MJ also to provide enough fuel at higher RPM, don't allow too lean air-fuel mixture, that will cause overheat. If don't wanna change jet, can experiment by dropping a notch on the MJ.

Anyone 'profiled' a CDI before? This means connecting a flash probe and measure the firing angle at all RPM?
Is LC CDI connected to gearbox to know which gear you're in? This will really explain low-mid-high timing and decide if it's suitable for stock or big block... or even a defective CDI. |

Chainlube dries and stay on the chain as lube - protection.
WD40 cleans, dries and leaves the chain dry - no protection. Example: WD40 is used to clean chainlube from chain. |

While you're at it, go to Ah Chui Fasteners to buy stainless steel allen key bolts to replace the stock ones. Add another threadlock adhesives to prevent rust buildup or loosening... and think of ways to prevent theft.
