time bomb is time-triggered computer program code or virus: a computer programing code either existing independently or included in a larger program that is triggered by date or by the length of time a computer application is used

Microsoft is giving away to everyone today windows 7 with a nasty time bomb ticking inside it. Beginning on March 1, 2010, the operating system will begin shutting down every two hours. If you're using one of the beta versions of Windows 7, the hourly shutdown game starts much sooner, on July 1, 2009.

if you go to start menu and type "winver", you can see its look like this

Attached Image

the date is when the timebomb start to operate.

RTM in this instance stands for "Release To Manufacturing". Microsoft usually release beta versions first to the public then once happy with the beta, they release it to manufacturing for the manufacturer like ati or amd make driver that compatible with the new version of windows. e.g windows 7 rtm

correct me if i`m wrong.

well, isn't it why it's called RC in the first place??? Released Candidate... means it's not the final one...

u think MS will be so smart to provide a free OS for everyone to download and use???

well said, i'll second that.

the reason is for us to test run it, calling it a timebomb is so cruel, understating it as a malware.

Of coz they will put in annoying features to make u buy the final version lor...

besides by, march, everyone already should have collect enuff money to buy 7 gua.... hmm.gif
