I call up POS and ask them and they said item sent by Pos Express so nonnit acknowledge receipt. They said already sent yesterday but i didnt receive. Damn POS!!! How how?

Video driver is not included, so as webcam driver, "empower" driver, etc...

Eiii? I thought the software/driver disc has them all? Well at least everything works right out-of-da-box after I upgraded my wife's Acer lappie.

A customer of mine brought his Windows 7 upgrade kit to my shop to upgrade, it comes with a Windows 7 DVD and a drivers/app DVD, there is a Windows 7 COA sticker also. (It is an Acer)

once of my fren from acer telling me that, if you having free upgrade to windows 7, u just need to install base on your version it will be legal. can anyone confirm it?

mean i have vista home premium, i just need to install an home premium from any cd will do? he said he will just borrow me the cd to burn@@?

Legally speaking, the free upgrade kit is only for the OEM license that you register with.
Technically speaking you can use another installation disc to install but you must use your own producy key to activate the windows.
Now since anyone who is entitled for the free upgrade will get his/her own free installation disc, I think your friend is not entitled for the free upgrade.

Got my Acer upgrade pack yesterday and it was due to the posman cuti so didn't delivery the cd on Monday.

Anyway, i am lucky to even consider getting this free upgrade as i bought my notebook on 21st June 2009. I jes try my luck and put my date of purchase to 28th June and voila, they didnt ask for my POP. Sweet!

There is product key that came with the Acer pack and i get to tear off the sticker of the COA and paste it to my notebook. Now there is two COA lol. If u do an upgrade, u dun need the key but if u do a clean installation, then u need to use the key.

PS: Upgrade is a nightmare!

If only that's for your acer then it's ok since you register.

If your fren doesn't have register the free upgrade, then wan to install win 7, it's illegal.

When no product key is used, the windows will become a 30-day evaluation. Legal but for 30 days only.

By the way, doing upgrade also need to input product key for activation.

Added on November 18, 2009, 1:18 pmNot illegal lar. If his friend owns a valid XP/Vista license he can still buy the upgrade pack. Just illegal to use the free upgrade kit only.
