i jz bot my acer revo at 21-08-09 but i find out my acer revo manufacture date is 01-06-09 so i can upgrade my vista home prem to win7 ?
*
Of course you can as long as your proof of purchase (i.e. receipt) shows your date of purchase is 21/08. The manufacture date has nothing to do with the OS upgrade.

Selected model only, you can check online at Microsoft Malaysia, there are links to HP, Acer, Asus, etc. as well. But as far as I know, most if not all models comes with pre-installed Home Premium, Business, and Ultimate can get free upgrade. Check properly first before you make purchase if you haven't. smile.gif

The website still show "payment pending" after I ordered a free Window 7 after bought a new laptop a month ago...should I call them to confirm my order?
*
"Payment pending" for your lappy or win7? I thought you only get charged when your win7 upgrade is available to be shipped out by Microsoft.

Payment pending for Window 7...

"Get charge after Win 7  available to be shipped out" mean they will only charge me from Oct 22 onwards?
*
Microsoft will only ship out the upgrade DVD when Win7 is officially luanched, and they'll only charge on you when they ship. They are not suppose to take your money first and wait for the launching because if any hiccups they have to refund. But remember, I don't think they will ship out all upgrade disc on 22/10. The actual shipment date remains unknown.

Just checked mine, changed to 31/10/2009. Damn! That's Saturday, hope the courier will do Saturday delivery blush.gif

So have you received your upgrade kit?
*
Normally courier service will do delivery on Saturday because they don't want to maintain extra storage.

Anyway, my wife got her upgrade disk yesterday from Acer, distributed by Acer Singapore, order was made in August.

Can use retail release to upgrade??
Now im using acer aspire 2930...
using win vista home premium...
can or not???
*
If you are saying to use a full retail windows 7 to upgrade your existing windows vista, yes you can do it but why would you? Upgrade pack is much cheaper than the full retail pack... unless you get sponsor.

Those upgrade kit from OEM comes with two DVDs, one is the Win7 itself the other is the manufacturer software upgrade + drvier for that particular manufacturer. At least Acer one is like that. My wife laptop (Acer 4736G) is done upgrade. Everythig works fine except have to manual disable the windows firewall to do windows update and download ANYTHING from Microsoft. Damn, the stupid Windows firewall blocking the windows itself problem is not solved at all.

My wife has upgraded her 4736G. No problem at all, there is a driver/software/application upgrade disk comes with the upgrade kit and will upgrade the Acer pre-installed software and driver.

U cant sell an OEM OS out lol.. It was lisenced to your Win Vista and could only use your key.. So no chance bro..
*
Well lots of shops are selling OEM Windows laugh.gif
Anyway, selling the upgrade kit is not such a good idea, well anyone who has a OEM/Full XP/Vista license can use the upgrade disk but everyone knew that you got the upgrade disk for FREE. So you think how much people are willing to pay for it?

Yes, shop selling OEM lisence but not used OEM lisence.
*
I thought TS wants to sell his upgrade kit, not his old OEM Vista license. The upgrade kit is not bound by the previous XP/Vista license as long as they are full/OEM license.

hello there,

how to get upgrade to windows 7? just bought an asus notebook on pc fair dated 8/8/09. i check the windows 7 asus website but found out my model doesn't eligible to get the upgrade. feel like being scammed from the seller. they keep saying all notebook that purchase after 26 june with windows vista home premium eligible to get upgrade windows 7  vmad.gif  . my asus model is x83vm-x2. im out of idea. do i still get the upgrade for windows 7?
*

Well your laptop model is not in the list, which means out of luck friend. I can't even find the model at Asus website. If the seller actually said this model is entitled for the free upgrade you are conned. If that seller is official Asus reseller than you can lodge a complaint on him.
You can, however, buy the upgrade version.

I already told them that one kenot sell this upgrade kit and they said no problem. Lol.  tongue.gif

Technically the upgrade disk will work in other computer, but of course it is considered illegal. And I've said that everybody knows that the upgrade kit is free, so why would they pay for something free? If want the OS free and illegal way, we have a good supplier called INTERNET. oops.gif
And if my didn't make myself clear enough, I DO NOT encourage people selling the free upgrade kit. I simply point out a fact that the upgrade disk will work on other computer. icon_rolleyes.gif

This idea is like: I bought a Computer A with Vista pre-installed, I get the free upgrade kit and upgrade it to Win7; later I sell the Computer A, but before selling that I revert it back to Vista; after that I purchase Computer B with Vista pre-installed too and I use the upgrade kit to upgrade it to Win7. Any wrong with that? hmm.gif

By the way, can I dual boot with Vista and 7 if using the upgrade kit? hmm.gif

how much do you guys pay for win7 upgrade??

i found dell user got win 7 upgrade cd for FREE!
*
The upgrade kit itself is free. People were charged for handling and shipping fee, and some company like HP and Dell absorb the fee for their customer.

My acer status tukar to blank now.. Lol.. Anyway, i got new lappy to play with win 7 liau.. the different is now i am using 64bit os on this new notebook. The upgrade kit notebook i am ordering only come with 32bit..

Wonder can change to 64bit one o not
*
Nope, can't change if your Vista is 32bit one. But if somehow you manage to get a 64bit installation disk, your upgrade disk product key will be working just fine.

Just checked Dell's Win7 Upgrade site and right now it says that my upgrade kit has been shipped but the tracking number provided is not working at all. Anyone with Dell actually received the kit?

Holy cr@p, you haven't got yours... that's like 2 weeks liao. Well, maybe because it's totally free then they change to another cheaper courier service and then have to re-run the thing.
