Yeah. I know mys_terious had order the AE4000. Initially he want to get my W6000 but I ask him to go ahead with AE4000 as I can't confirm the quote for HD86 from US at that time. I'll pm him to check if he is interested in shootout. Maybe help him to do the calibration during the shootout will attract him  rclxms.gif

Just send him a PM and see if he interested. Anyway, if the shootout is on, I can only do it after CNY. Got party to organize so not free for shootout.

Update. Just get confirmation from mys_terious that he'll bring the AE4000 to Penang after CNY. We'll arrange again. So, anfieldude bro, you in? Can do it at my house as I lazy to unscrew my W6000 from the mounting.

Sounds like a plan. Just let me know when it is ok with u and mys_terious.

Was it a LED light source projector?

According to Art Audio, They might bring in that LED light source projector later. It seem they are one of the 2 sole distributor for Vivitek in Malaysia. Brader Pierreye is right, the glossy black Vivitek projector is indeed 5080. wink.gif

pj party in pg! smile.gif

Yes, it would be good to get impressions from you all about the W6000 and AE4000. Looks like anfieldude will have a chance to try out Panny's AE3000 and AE4000 in the near future.

Anyway, when you talk about the 'pop' with DLP is it due to the ANSI contrast?

I believe so. Also the sharpness from a DLP is visually better and together with the contrast ratio comes the pop!

Anyone with JVC LCOS projector want to join for shootout. We can compare all 3 diff technologies and their strength and weakness. Easier to make decision in the future based on your preferences.

bro anfieldude i am planning for the test between ae4000 and w6000 on the 18/02/10... let us know if u r free or not...

for those who has the time and doesnt care abt the trouble involved, getting ae4000 in SG will save u quite some money...

1) ticket to sg from pg(tiger air)= rm85 nett per way.. so return will be under rm200
2)shuttle bus from sg airport to adelphi or sim lim area=sg9 (return trip to airport =sg9 also), so total sg18 for ground transport
3) make sure u claim gst.. a good dealer will kautim n deduct the gst for u on the spot, if not then just claim it at the airport on the way back..

but if u r a risk taker then just buy direct from the states.. or if u dont have the time n still want warranty then no choice, just have to buy at a high price in our boleh land.

18th I can't. Not in Penang. Can we do it either 21st or 28th? We need more time to tune AE4000. At least 2 hours to tune greyscale and CMS. Unless anfieldude can do it faster. Normally I let projector to run at least 30 min before tuning.

Anyone with HDMI switcher with 2 HDMI output? Easier to do A/B comparison without plugging/unplugging the HDMI wire.

I doubt I can do it in less than 2hrs, especially as I am not familiar with the controls, also from what I read, u need to workaround the usual CMS to adjust as there are some quirks.

I do not have a switch. Let's work out the timing once mys_terious can confirm..

Just came back from Art Audio, that Led projector from Vivitek have arrive already. Looklike someone in Ipoh have order it, waiting to be install. Heard that Led projector is the first one in Msia and Spore. It cost fifty plus Ks shocking.gif. I'm planning to get the Vivitek 1080. The problem is the yammy 1800 only have one hdmi out. Need 2 hdmi out. one for the lcd tv and one for the projector. I know I need a hdmi splitter. How much the hdmi splitter cost and where to get it? I want a power one icon_question.gif .

Check bluejeancables or monoprice. Their price quite good. Some model can do auto switch.

If below 5k then should be ok but above you might want to check out Mitsubishi hc3800

anfield, when you are in KL, maybe I'll bring to my client's home (I'll seek his permission first). He had just bought a AE-4000 from me.

It should be around HD20 price locally. Waiting for bonda420's review and screenshots
