If the penalty is just $300 only, I'll go for it but don't trade in the phone coz the value is way below the fair trade value you can get (unless ur existing iPhone 3G is BUSTED!!!

at $748 - xxx (sell off value of 3G) - that's what ur paying... cheers

I'm not sure what the iFlexi plans are but based on what you wrote, the 3GS @ S$748 is pretty okie (this for the 16GB?) considering your existing 3G 16GB iPhone can be sold at about RM1500-RM1800 depending on demand and supply hence other than having to upgrade to iFlexi + be stuck with SingTel for another 24 months, U really don't pay an additional cent for the phone; U do need to check out how much extra U need to pay p/month for the next 24 months cause that's not been taken into calculation as yet.

yes, it's for 16GB. and I don't think i need 32GB. iFlexi lite is the mobile + data plan, with 500MB @ 7.2mbps

my current contract with singtel however is mobile + data, with 50GB @ 3.2mbps monthly cap. although my monthly data access normally around 200-300MB. thus, by choosing iFlexi lite my monthly fee will be reduced slightly from $60 to $50.

then the iflexi value sounds ok to me, 288 for the 16, and 438 for the 32

iFlexi value is fine but u have to factor in other VAS after 3months free subscription, such as Caller ID which cost $5 and for me, another v019 @ $5.35. that say, it gonna cost $56 + $5 + $5.35 = $66.35 monthly fee.
Both 16GB and 32GB now have white color, so no worry.

can I know your current data plan with the 3.2mbps speed ok or not? is it consider fast or very slow in terms of browsing the net? Also, are you a student or currently working in SG?

my current bill is abt 70+

so if 3g flexi, no need pay for those?

If Ur going to be utilising the plans then I guess forking an additional A$748 for the i3GS seems quite okie. In fact, U could sell the current one and if you're lucky U wouldn't even need to top up for a new handset.

sorry, correction. shd be 3.6mbps. the speed actually quite ok. after all, it's just browsing using handphone. how fast u gonna need it? even with 7.2mbps, im doubt it will reach that speed also.

no. all iflexi plans have to pay for caller ID etc VAS after 3months. VAS only free for 3months for new line sign up. So im not sure about recontract.

Don't think it's too difficult. Go dispose it ASAP before supply becomes aplenty I know a couple of people who managed to sell their units off at pretty good prices

Agree wif Tink, well if ur confident to be able to sell off ur current 3G, then u should go ahead to get the new 3GS. Hey, it's ur money, u decide what's best 4 u.

Btw, I'll update 1st post on the upgrading penalty but my guess is that they offer it to those who signed up the 3G in August 2008 only.

Unless ur friend looks like a crook and are carrying too many sets will he be checked. That aside, I don't think it'll be a problem lah, seriously! Worst come to worst if you're truly afraid, just take the phone out of the box and put in a lady's handbag and get her to carry it - that way when custom office asks, the phone is NOT new

The yellowish on the white apparently is due to some casing - it will go away if u rub some alcohol on it In any case, mine's Black but the white's nice too

Well unless ur bringing in by truck load Anyway 1-2 units shouldn't be a problem if ur friend is driving into JB, then courrier to you. Oh, BTW customs in JB are conducting spot check at CIQ. Don't bring back by truckload!!! Few pcs maybe OK!

All Singtel sets should be unlocked and could be used on any network but as far as warranty is concern, you have to refer back to your reseller / Singtel with original Singtel receipt (presumably)..

I thought singtel's 3gs comes with a phone plan? how do those people manage to get so many?
