@jonest,
I haven't done much research on the SingTel sets but what's the price difference like between this 3GS and the 3G a year ago?

It's a 24 month contract and the prices are almost the same as last year's 3g except more plans.

Anyway, for existing iphone user the upgrade is so expensive which is 600. I am currently in this dilemma and paying 600 does not terminate your previous contract but it runs concurrently.

So if let say i stop working in Singapore before next year August, then its gonna cost me 800+800 for those 2 contracts.. crazy.. u've already payed the 600 now.

Really in dilemma. Maybe i'll skip this one as the jump from 3g and 3gs are not that much.

@pikaphebat,
Hence, in order to upgrade U need to fork out an additional S$600?! If it's RM600 it's pretty worth it smile.gif I bite the bullet and am enjoying my 3G [s] v muchie biggrin.gif

The Singtel 3GS sets' price plans are OK for non-existing 3G users since they are pretty much the same as last year's 3G price, however, they are RIDICULOUS to current 3G owners as they have to pay SGD600+handset price if they are between 6-12 months within the contract (obviously all Singtel 3G owners are in that area as it was launched on 22nd August 2008) and SGD300+handset price if they are between 12-21 months within the contract.

Im off this time. SGD600 as a penalty for existing iPhone 3G customer! That's what they call "valued customer"!

QUOTE
We know you have an iPhone 3G contract with SingTel and are keen to upgrade to an iPhone 3GS. As you are a valued SingTel customer, we have introduced an early upgrade fee just for this launch at $600 (in addition to the handset prices above) if you take a 24-month contract with the pricing above. This offer is only available at the launch event at Comcentre between 10 - 12 July 09.

We are also offering the following discounts off the purchase price and early upgrade fee. These offers are only available at the launch event:
$100 discount if you upgrade to an iFlexi price plan from your existing price plan.
Trade In your iPhone 3G for $400 (16 GB) or $300 (8 GB)

@k3v1n,
Might as well just wait for Maxis to release. Based on keynote presentation it's not going to be too long; we're in the same wave as NZ & Singapore so wait it out just a little longer biggrin.gif

@diners,
You're not allowed to ask or even speak about when Maxis is bringing it here cause we're all merely speculating. Once an official announcement been made, teikwing will update his thread or start a new one biggrin.gif

If this is so, why don't you just wait for maxis launch? Are you going to pay SGD20+ per month (I assumed you signing the cheapest plan) without even using it for 24 months?
