how do u guys solve Chapter 8, i either running negative income and couldn't keep up the demand for the goods my population need, sometimes even riot come out. i try to plant the bread on other island but running negative income. build more homes , not enough foods and etc.

I've been addicted to my continuous game, been sleeping at 2am last few nights, zombie @ work today haha. So far got about 4k total people, almost 1k nobles and 1k envoys! Just built my first large warship too, but I feel it's kind of pointless cos the two medium AIs I have in my game are damn far behind ...

... anyway of the quests ... the "find 3 assassins in your town" one is stupid ... after 5 minutes of zoomed-in searching my town I only found one and gave up ...

Funny, it seems that the only 'tavern' that civilize humanity are being banned.

Not sure about this new Anno (haven't plan to get yet ) but those who play Anno previously should know that tavern - chapel are the only thing that make citizen to advance.

Was struggling whether to buy original or XXX b4 this but after reading through the highly positive review here I finally bought ori at RM155 (tough decision...). First comment, damn this is one expensive game, considering the box only come with a lousy manual... can't they afford a better one?! I seriously think Ubinsoft need to come out with a revised manual for newbie like us! If not it will be really dissapointing for ppl like us spending big bucks supporting original. Anyway, haven't really start playing the game yet so really hope I won't regret in any way.

I followed a walkthru and played easy mode. Basically at start just stop my patrician's consumption of bread and beer. Then raise all taxes to yellow level. Next demolish all unused buildings. Since bread and beer are turned off, yep, I demolished all my bread and beer production buildings.

Make sure cathedral construction is halted until you complete those 2 quests that gives you the oriental worker and that thing from Marie that reduces your cathedral maintenance costs. After each phase of cathedral construction it will be halted automatically and a new form of oriental worker will be available. Make sure you obtain this new oriental worker first before resuming the cathedral construction.

When your economy gets stable, build more fishing huts/cider/hemp/spice farms etc then build more houses. Slide taxes back to green for people to move in. You'll go back to negative income at first, but once more people move in and houses get upgraded you'll be back to positive income in not time! When your population is maxed and no houses can advance anymore, slide taxes back to yellow.

At second phase of the cathedral construction you will need 20 bread for a quest. So it is imperative you turn off the consumption of bread at the beginning and don't sell them.

So yea I fail to complete that 200 noblemen optional quest since I have no source of bread and beer but this strategy will finish the main quest.

You can try the Collector's Edition http://www.amazon.co.uk/Anno-1404-Collecto...D/dp/B002DWAZQ2 but I haven't seen any locally. But boy oh boy those extras are sure yummy.

I asked TSB and they say the distributor here doesn't bring in the CE.

Guys i need a bit of advice. I'm playing The Elector under the Scenario and i'm not sure how i can build the nomad buildings. I dont knw how to get prestige from that grand vizier to gain access to those buildings.

Any pointers? Need those spices really bad haha.

go to Lord Richard, buy the appreciation scroll and carry it to Vizier to get prestige.

Just a heads up, the new ATI Catalyst 9.8 broke this game. Ground textures are just plain black.

So stick to the previous drivers.

have you notice once you upgrade your houses to noble title, they pay less taxes, bloody noble and somemore they have a lot of need, mostly i upgrade 1 of them and hold right in the market, mean they cannot upgrade. So most are Patrician status.


I played 5 hours + straight and the game told me "YOU REALLY NEED A BREAK!"
