QUOTE(abesabraham @ Sep 1 2009, 08:35 PM) Do youu think this should suffice for a month old hoglet? Of course i'll be sure to upgrade when it gets bigger. for ventilation should be fine, but i think you'd probably have to be concerned if it's going to be a bit too suffocating for the hedgehog itself, considering that it will definitely pee and poo in the box.And do you think that the ventilation would be good enough? If not I'll cut the top off and glue it down with wire mesh. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

QUOTE think it's bit small from the pic... Mayb you can tell us the actual measurement of the box... One month old hedgie? Why is it so young??? Still underaged ler... Eh actually is 2 months. heh. typo. QUOTE for ventilation should be fine, but i think you'd probably have to be concerned if it's going to be a bit too suffocating for the hedgehog itself, considering that it will definitely pee and poo in the box. Suffocating, and by that do you mean the fleece/towel? Should I remove it? Cause the bedding issue is really Or should i just cut the top off... and glue it with a wire mesh. Added on September 2, 2009, 1:38 pmThe box measurement is like... okie measured the box. it is 65 cm long, 35 cm wide, and 32 cm high. its pretty big. I think the camera made it look weird. Hehe... when ur hedgie grow bigger like kenken, then u will realize the box is too small for them to move.. esp after u put in the wheel.. |

QUOTE(abesabraham @ Sep 2 2009, 01:34 PM) Eh actually is 2 months. heh. typo. at 32cm high, i think it's adequate for you to leave the top open 24/7 and won't have to be worried that it'll escape.Suffocating, and by that do you mean the fleece/towel? Should I remove it? Cause the bedding issue is really Or should i just cut the top off... and glue it with a wire mesh. Added on September 2, 2009, 1:38 pmThe box measurement is like... okie measured the box. it is 65 cm long, 35 cm wide, and 32 cm high. its pretty big. I think the camera made it look weird. what i meant was although there will be air circulation, the smell produced from the faeces will remain trapped in the box and it'll create an unhygienic condition for your hedgehog. also, should the faeces remain uncleared for several days, you'll probably find the box a bit humid as well from heat emission. and eric's right, the enclosure now may be appropriate for the time being, but if you are going to include a wheel anytime in the near future that will be a little small for your hedgehog once it reaches adulthood. But right now. i'm trying systematic desensitization for my family. they don't know yet :3 Esp if you r still young and staying with family... And from your words, it sounds like your family will object. |

Haha don't worry guys. They know im getting something but they don't know what i'm getting. Cause I dont tell them.
I'm 18 already so i'm not some small kid buying without knowledge. I own 1 snake and about 25 spiders so yes. It's not a problem. My sister has 2 bearded dragons. and the reason i'm not telling them is because they think i'm gonna get something reptile-ish/poisonous which is what I'm usually into. A hedgehog is a change. And if i tell them a hedgehog they would be like "??? what is that? porcupine? so big? will poke u and die" and all that nonsense. And I don't want them to get the wrong idea. They aren't the people who will listen to reason. So the only way they will understand is to see it itself. And that's what I've been doing with all my pets. So far so good.
