Twilight is one of the most horrifying movies I've seen in ages.
How horrifying it is if I have to choose to live among the vampires or the werewolf...in fact, I have to live with them even if I don't want to choose any one of them.
Btw, a freak watches me sleep in the middle of the night creeps me out.
Sad life.

Well, I put this off long enough.

Had to make a call to Canada, Ontario, so put it one at 11++pm

It is a dialogue driven piece, and that is NOT a bad thing.

For some odd reason, it has a "English" production feel to it..., although it is suppose to take place in New York

The lead actor, John Cassavetes, looked alot like Martin Landau when I first started watching the movie.

2/3 of the movie is slow moving, but when it starts, it starts.

It is now 12:46 a.m. and I'm still glue to the TV (I'm 1:38 into the movie).

Will let you guys know what I think after I had finished the whole thing!

Later

Devil (2010)

Ah, Mr. M. Night Shyamalan.

Many a thing is said about Mr. Night, and I'll reiterate, he is a pretty good writer!

He co wrote this and it is a VERY GOOD horror movie!

Very simple. Very direct! Great pacing and lots of FUN!!!

You do NOT want the elevator lights to go off, but deep DEEP down inside you kinda do, because you want to know what THE devil does next!!

Easily the BEST Horror movie for 2010.

Proves that you DON'T have to have a budget like Avatar to make a good movie (this movie was made with 10 million dollars, pittance by Hollywood standard)

Well, in 2010, it went into an elevator in the above office building and started claim souls!! laugh.gif

Rosemary's baby is good.

Was very surprise that Charles Grodin character (Dr. C.C. Hill), caving in like that.

Didn't see THAT ending coming.

Good zombie tv series, can't wait for 2nd season  thumbup.gif

Can anyone recommend/list  good horror films of 2010
*
This is what I enjoyed in 2010 NOT in any order

The Crazies - good spin on the zombie genre
Daybreakers - interesting twist in Vampire lore
The Last Exorcism - I cannot emphasis enough how much I like this movie. The fact that it is LOW budget only adds to it!!
Shutter Island - A Dark Psychological ride. Goooood....
Devil - I STILL love M. Night Shyamalan's writing
Piranha - It is SO bad it is ACTUALLY good!!
A Nightmare on Elm St Not many people would agree with me but I thought it was decent!!

Just rewatch Mr. Vampire. Real funny and hilarous

What is even more incredible is that the director's uncle is really a taoist priest! The script is based on stories his uncle had shared with him (director) when he was young....

Hi de4thscythell

Thanks for keeping this going!

Have not watched Death Bell

Battle Royale is consider horror (more of gore though)

Did watch the first one and was actually original. Cannot remember if I had watched the second one though.... OLD already and it was a long time ago (early 2000...)

I know I have NOT been contributing

Had high hope for My Soul To Keep, but reviews have NOT been kind and have not gotten a copy...

Keep this up guys/gals

Hi de4thscythell and izzatrahim

Yes, I also like Devil

Am surprised there are alot of people who didn't like it

I thought is was a surprising low budget well made horror movie!

I do believe M Night Shymalan should stick to writing rather then directing... I do hope the second and third movie for Devil gets made (suppose to be a trilogy). Getting SO many razzles (Air Bender) isn't complimentary... laugh.gif

The girl that get crucified, etc ?

No the one where a priest wants to show the world that exorcism is fake and bring a camera crew with him to film the last exorcism he was going to perform.

He choose a case randomly and goes off to do the said exorcism...

I watched Black Swan last night and would classify it under the same genre as the Repulsions, Rosemary's Babys, The Machinists and Requiem for A Dreams- psychological horror. Parts of it are terrifying not because we're scared for ourselves, but because we're scared for the character on screen.

It's an amazing movie.

Oh, a chick flick and freaks YOU out.

You've gone and make me curious!! laugh.gif

Okay, kidding will watch it this weekend, no need to get your whatever in a bunch!! smile.gif

My Soul To Take (2010)

I like Wes Craven

Ever since I saw A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) when it first came out, I've liked his work

And he then went and made this????!

Some would disagree and say that he didn't put any effort into the story (he both wrote and directed this), I have a funny feeling that he tried TOO hard.

The experience I have with this is EXACTLY the experience I had after watching Simon West's When a Stranger Calls (2006). After Con Air, I had such high hopes for When a Stranger Calls and it was a dud...

I think Wes Craven was so into making a "comeback" and he OVER THUNK the script, it is SO MESSY and CROWDED it is NOT funny

He didn't even BOTHER to explain anything at the end which only lead to the watcher going HUH???????

Max Thieriot has definitely grown since The Pacifier and NO ONE else makes an impression

BIG DISAPPOINTMENT

Paranormal Activity 2 (2010)

Have you watched Paranormal Activity?

If you have, does the 2 meets expectation?

For me, it does!!

There is a constant creepiness about this movie

The story is pretty decent and actually adds to the first movie!

It encapsulates the first story and gives it a begin a middle and an end.

Some people had critise that it is basically the first movie, exceot with a bigger budet (15K vs 2.7 M)

I think is a an unfair comparison, and you should knock it until you have tred it

I don't think this is for eveyone. It is a pure, horror, things goes bump in the nite kind, and not, people flashing their naughty bits and get chopped up kind.

If you enjoy the first, you'll enjoy this
