QUOTE(onemanshows @ Jul 1 2009, 10:59 AM) haha fingers crossed. If Benzema come.. it will be awesome with that formation...Ooooo Fingger crossed.. hopefully he'll come, prolly we can do a 4-3-3? Benzema Berbatov Rooney Anderson Carrick Fletcher usual back 4 and GK Seems world class up front, but maybe a bit lacking in midfield. What you guys think? |

QUOTE(Hevrn @ Jul 1 2009, 09:53 AM) Cue the "they've got a 30+ million pound striker on the bench! Not fair!" excuses. I do agree that Valencia is a tad bit overpriced, but its common knowledge around Europe that we're currently fat with cash thx to the Ronaldo sale and all our potential sellers are quoting marked up prices to milk us for all we can. Still, 16million for an Ecuadorian. Is that a record for them? Might still be time for more shopping, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was the only player we get this summer. its not matter he is an ecuadorian.. the talent and what he can do what really matter. vidic is serbian, park is korean, giggs wales, berba bulgarian..he's not cheap but he worth the money la.. proven, young, talented. could be best player ecuador ever had. world cup 2006 he is one of the favourite to win young player of tournament award. consider how united pay for ando n nani he totally not overprice. just hope he can live up the expectation n faith SAF hv in him. welcome valencia!! do ur magic.. make us proud!! with the arrival of Valencia, Rooney will be back to his favourite position....oh...can't wait to see him racking up goals after goals like when he played for England

Last season we had Ronaldo, but still Rooney played out wide. Now Ronaldo is gone and replaced by Valencia. We could still see Rooney out wide again. But that's due to tactical reasons, and the other wingers not in form. I don't really see it as such a bad thing if someone have to be sacrificed for the benefit of the team.

Why not just use Park on the opposite side of Ronaldo if that's the case? Tt was because Nani went shit throughout last season, and as good as Park is, some games we need a more threatening player there(Park need rest etc), which Rooney is, and we have better strikers in Berba and Tevez. But other times it's also due to tactical reasons.. using Ronaldo as the furthest forward, and Rooney and another one out wide.

Nani/Park will battle it out for the other spot. I hope Nani really cement that place. |

i'm glad that he's gone for good
we need someone who is willing to be benched without complaining e.g. Jason, John, Jonny and not criticizing the gaffer after leaving e.g. Pique, Rossi, even Becks no one can ever play everyweek and every match *Lampard is exceptional case, but i think he did spent few match on the match This post has been edited by driftmeister: Jul 1 2009, 01:08 PM |

I hope Nani really cement that place. well Nani really need to step up this season, been quite mediocre in the last 2seasons, but probably was due to lack of matches exposure....but if he and valencia really pick up their game, then we will have our new "yorke-cole" combo, only this time its at the wing position |
