Perfectly understands what he meant. Regarding the ownership of the club. But let me just highlight one thing, they have elections in La Liga clubs while here, in England they have total ownership. When someone said there's no power to the fans they are dead wrong, out of nowhere there's FC United. And how people have been boycotting the Glazers when they came to United back then. Fans always have the last say. If there's no fan in Manchester, where would the support come from?
To be honest, I don't really give a damn if Pompey, Villa or whatever club is being bought by tycoons. They can afford it, so what? Fans will still be fans and supporters. As a matter of fact, this will help the club thus league being more competitive. Marketable? Hell yes! And this will attract big talents and names to come and play.
What Blatter or his BF Platini are doing is trying to kill English clubs. I don't see any difference when Perez or Abramowich is in charge of a club. Perez promises the fans to get this set of players and so does Abramowich. The only difference is the money source. I do believe that because of Abramowich, Chelsea has just step up and market their club better despite of glory hunters.
Big money transfers will kill the small clubs? Take a good look at Valencia. In Spain, I believe only Barca and RM have the most say over transfers while others are having problems in getting big names to play for them. Isn't the same scenario happens in any other leagues? So, what's wrong with tycoons buying smaller clubs. They chose EPL because it's marketable and it's in ENGLISH. Audience from all around the world can easily understand what are being saying and so on.
So, what's wrong with having an oil tycoon to pay for your club? They still have to generate money to cope with their losses. We've seen that with Chelsea. It's not like they aren't doing something about it. Funny how Blatter and Platini can talk so much while being biased on non-English clubs. 6+5 rule? Great idea but take a good look at current RM lineup? Or maybe Barca which barely even have 6 Spanish in their side. Toure, Henry, Messi, Alves and Eto'o aren't exactly Spanish are they?
highlight la liga hv election does not change the fact that english club hv an edge of total ownership different than other league club. if english club only compete in their own competition it will be no problem n fair but u got european club competition too..
as a fan i also dont give a damn bout tycoon buying other club.. that is why blatter is the president of FIFA while we just a fan of football. to attract big player coz of club statue, history, reputation, winning ability is definately positive but only coz of money that not good for football as a sport.
to say blatter trying to kill english club for me is just short minded, selfish and nonsense.. no different between perez or abramovich? then only difference is money source?
big money wont kill small club.. maybe only put pressure for them to keep competing against big club. tycoon choose english club not just coz its marketable and its english but also coz THEY CAN!! they cant buy other league club to hv total ownership and power elsewhere. its simply if u got the money u can be owner of a club
it not bout wrong or rite.. it his money its up to him la. it just not fair to other league and it could ruin or atleast change how football should be. correct me if i'm wrong but i think 6+5 rule the 6 is for homegrown not only countrymen. also chelsea still making losses.. abromovich want to win, city owner want to make the club biggest in manchester,england.., glazer want make money n keep running biznes. not possible one day super rich owner came just to hv fun and show his money..
this just my opinion.. TQ
