Manchester United are weighing up a move for Toure Yaya, but they may not be able to prise him away from Barcelona until January, as he has only just penned a new deal with the club.

The Red Devils believe that the Ivory Coast international would provide the perfect cover for Owen Hargreaves and value the Blaugrana star at £25 million (€29.5m), according to The Mirror.

Having had the player watched last season, United were hopeful that Barca's move for Liverpool's Javier Mascherano would be successful and would leave Toure with a decision to make.

But instead, Barcelona have not made an official move for the Argentinian and have now persuaded Toure to pen a new deal to ward off any interested parties.

While the new contract may mean that he will not be leaving this summer, United could return in the winter transfer window if Barca do add to their midfield before August 30.

Toure's agent did state, in recent weeks, that his client had to feel appreciated, as well as well-paid at Barcelona, and that if both were not forthcoming, then he could leave.

Wan, I can't remember when but I think at certain period of last season Fergie grew tired of Ronald not tracking back. That's why he played Ronaldo upfront and Rooney on the wing. Of course he has played Rooney on the wing prior to that, but I think there was a game where we concede a goal because Ronaldo lost the ball and did not track back, and that was the  reason Fergie stick to his decision playing Rooney on the wing. I can't remember which game though.

for tevez part...it's like what i said previously... rooney & tevez are the best 'turbo engine' for MU last season. and the simple reasons why fans love tevez more than berbatov is because he's a very productive hardworking man...it suits MU style...MU plays a very-fast attacking football ...so they need players like rooney-tevez-anderson who can round all the way in the pitch to get the ball..
this is MU ..not barca la weei...MU donot play free-flowing football..Berba needs to get down to work starting new season.not just wait for the ball...remember RVN?? of course we all know he's the kind of player who scores in the penalty box only...but look...where's he when defending?? when dead ball situation?? i remember one goal at OT where ruud runs from the middle pitch, dribble the ball and scores.

not forget to mention that berba only joins MU at the very last day of first transfer window..

& the facts that he do not joins pre-season also might be the reason why he cant follow the styles of MU.that's why i said, we shud give him another season

wah we all been debating about tevez n berba...wch both had some contribution plus some bad spells/form etc etc....but both of them are not the center piece to take any blame nor fall for any mishaps.

what i see is the failure of fergie to revert rooney back to his desired position, his deadly and lethal position.imo thats what we are missing.last season yet again rooney took one for the team, the man is great player but his form suffers from.let him be an out and out striker and he can scare the bravest of defense.

big fab got it right and he did wonders wth england, i hope wth ronaldo gone, rooney will not be sacrificed again by pushed to all over the field.he is our most deadly asset as of now, and hopefully berba gets it right next season.

wth both of them we can go far, so we dont need the benzema's, nor the eto as of the moment.what we need is another winger, and 1 more att cm to cover for owen whom i do prey gets full recovery and comes back to the team.he was another player sorely missed last season.

How many games Rooney played out wide? Around 5 maybe? He still plays the majority of games upfront for us. If you want to blame someone, blame the other wingers for not being good enough last season that we had to play Rooney there some games, although in the big games it's more of a tactical decision..

Fulham have joined the race to sign Newcastle United's Jonas Gutierrez, but they face stiff competition for the winger.

According to the Evening Chronicle, The Cottagers are hoping to bring the Argentine international in on loan, with an option to buy at the end of the season. Gutierrez is seeking a move away from St. James Park following Newcastle's relegation from the Premier League, in order to boost his chances of remaining in Diego Maradona's plans during a World Cup year.

However, Fulham face stiff competition for his signature. Their biggest threat comes from Porto, who might be a more attractive proposition for Gutierrez. In 30 games for Newcastle, he failed to score a single goal, and he may not be keen on another Premier League campaign. In addition, there is a strong Argentinean contingent at Porto.

Tottenham have also registered their interest in Jonas previously, but they have not shown any indication of a move for him yet.
