Is that means if i put 100k FD, i will be getting a 100k credit line card? Who can confirm this? Is there any limit for the credit limit?
*
In theory, YES subjected to e maximum limit of RM300K. However, have never tried before since its illogical for someone to have RM100K in FD but not being able to secure a CC. Generally most cards issued under this category are classic cards which are normally capped at RM10K normally hmm.gif

Right but lets say in this situation whereby :

That person never applied credit card before but have a savings of 100k

That person is below the minimum requirements for a platinum card but yet he/she have 100k in savings

If the 1 to 1 ratio is confirmed at ANY amount, it would be a great news brows.gif
*
An acquaintance of mine once mentioned that as the amount goes higher its no longer 1:1 but may be reduced to 3:1 instead however that was awhile back, so its suggested that you call the bank concerned to clarify as necessary.

Slightly different question.

Assuming you have a credit limit of RM10K. But for a certain purchase, you needed to spend RM30K on the card. So can you:

1. Paid into your credit card account RM20K and you can swipe RM30K on the card now?

I was told some overseas card do not allow that. What about Malaysia?
*
In theory can but some banks like MBB do not allowed for some weird reason hmm.gif

I've also heard that some banks have capped their limit for Platinum cards(applies to individual cards only as all their cards have seperate credit limits anyway). Recently one of my friends who worked inside Citibanks told me that the CL for citibank cards have been capped to 100k. However,I will be curious to know what's the cap for CL when it comes to Platinum, visa infinite etc?
*
Erh, you mean there were no cap previously? Since when got so many M'sian earning above RM300K per annum? But do keep us posted as very curious to know as well hmm.gif

but with the proper statement dates, one can fully maximize the credit facilities given. what is the point of having 2 seperate CC having same statement dates beside the obvious higher combined CL?
*
Actually the answer is obvious as Visa/Mst offers different promotions and in order to sweeten the deal most banks will up your CL a little for you to take both their cards smile.gif

is DA abnormal, or maybank is too nice??
*
You can go pick up if too kiasu to pay for shipping brows.gif

But seriously, their point system one of the better ones plus no annual fees, so have to control cost. Most other banks will not charged except for large items etc

2. i just dont understand why some people in this forum prefer to ask people to not this to not that instead of providing a better advice? maybe i LOVE to be in debt? why dont u let me decide whether i should get a cc or so? and i dont understand if u can afford an item, why do u still need a credit card, go ahead pay check or cash settle the payment once, and eventually this thread will be useless whats the point?
*
For what its worth, debts are good. All big time tycoons are always in debts way over their head & best of all is no one can take away your debts by force as opposed to cold hard $$$$$$$$$ tongue.gif

So go for it ...... don't say we aren't supportive, k icon_rolleyes.gif

@Aeon_Clock,
It's because Ur holding co-branded cards hence it's possible but otherwise Visa & MC has a policy in which U cannot hold 2 Visas from the bank; as in U cannot have Classic + Gold Visa.  Ur Gold Visa will override the Classic and that will subsequently be cancelled.  This applies to MC too but apparently it doesn't apply to Amex cause Amex Platinum CC holders have applied and received the Amex Gold CC biggrin.gif
*
Dear, I don't think it works that way anymore. Eg for my DA, I have both the Visa/Mst Plat and also the Infinite/World cards and they are both still valid and has been so for months now hmm.gif

What is your question, don't really understand credit line statement. For my DA World/Infinite I had to submit once again proof of income and fill in the application form.
*
It means to apply for the card based on an existing card, so a minimum limit is required smile.gif

But to deviate slightly, but what sort of income docs do they asked for anyway since you are already their customer? Sorry for asking but my cards were sent directly without needing any docs or applications etc. There was just a package from Poslaju one day shocking.gif

Does it means the CL? If so, the CL for my DA Plat is the lowest among my Plat CC (even lower than my RHB Evo).

I hardly use my DA except for pumping petrol or buying books at MPH. Long ago applied DA with Degree for Gold Card then apply to upgraded to Plat. Well in the VI/World Application Form it states income requirement so I submiited my EA form together with the application form. A week later they sent me the cards.

tgeoklin, I guess you are a valued client of CIMB/DA and me not biggrin.gif

Anyway, Ad in The Star today for CIMB/DA CC (for arsenal easy reference, see Section 2 Pg T5):

Offer at MPH
29/7 to 2/8 - 15% discount on books and RM5 voucher for every RM90 purchase.
29/7-31/7 - additional 5% discount on books.

Offer at MPH outlets at 1U, Subang Parade and MV
Spend RM200 get Thermos Snack Jar & Spend RM400 get Santa Barbara Overnight Bag.
*
You are much too humble and gave me more credit than I am due blush.gif We are all but stats in the Bank's database but since you meet their min income requirements, then it no small feat and does justice to the cards you hold rclxms.gif

Thks for the new privileges update btw. Cheers

Er.. I believe someone mentioned for SCB VI, U need RM80k CL but I'm not sure if that figure still stands.
*
Actually its RM50K minimum to be eligible but at RM80K, its 90% assured tongue.gif

@MilesAndMore,
So this HSBC Visa Platinum is different from the HSBC Premier?  Cause if I ain't mistaken, HSBC Premier doesn't give U 80% of your time deposit; AFAIK their CL starts at RM40k.

Thanks for the shedding a light on the Visa & Mastercard categories.  Looks like I now need to get my hands on the World Mastercard.  So, which banks offer it again? tongue.gif

@Aeon_Clock,
We're talking about RM150k-240k annual income for the Visa Infinite.  Am not sure about the World Mastercard though.

@winner,
Sorry but where did U read there's a 3 year FOC for the SCB VI card?
*
Would recommend that you go with the CIMB Enrich World Mastercard, its the most exclusive World card in M'sia for now tongue.gif

As to the SCB VI, its FOC for 3 years to selected clients of the bank. It was during the initial launching of the card, not sure if now still applicable ie. the package that came with the pre-approved card has a nice invitation specifically stating such a term.

AhHhhh... well I didn't get any pre-approved card from SCB but that's also because I'm not one of their elite customers *siGh* Nah.. not going to go get the World Mastercard - don't see a reason to be carrying so many cards.
*
Well, the World Card sure would have been a nice addition to your emaculate collection. No need to carry around, just lock in your safe & ogle at it as and when you free drool.gif

RM50K CL to qualify for VI? If you ask me that is kind of low as Plat starting CL (exclude Robinson and UOB ONE card) usually at RM30K right?
*
Actually the standard of plat cards had diminished drastically, thus the need for new cards to be introduced tongue.gif
