It's almost impossible. I also informed SCB I just wanted a cc without opening a current acc. But after a few days upon receipt of the Just1 cc, they sent a cheque book to me directly and charged the stamp duty into my Just1 acc.

70% chance your card will get stuck in swipe machine if they are made from metal because of the thickness. And FYI, VISA Black Card is made from carbon graphite/fiber.

Question : Oversea transaction fee is standard or determine by bank of issuer ? I called Miaubank just now, and they confirmed there is "NO OVERSEA TRANSACTION FEE".

hmm i just received my DA statement and it seemed that the hypermarket rebate will be deducted from your points... so the 'rebate' is just like you redeeming your points...

I thought the rebate is only 2% ? Or there is an ongoing promotion now ?

I notice that Standard Chartered still give very high interest rate for their "Privilege Savings/Checking account". I believe this account is reserved only for their Priority Banking customers ?

Anyways, i'm not too sure what does Standard Chartered mean with the relaunching of their Priority Banking service. I believe it is more or less the same as HSBC Premier and Citibank Citigold, with added perks.

Basically the perks offered by HSBC Premier and Citibank Citigold are the same. Believe the relaunch Standard Chartered Priority Banking service will offer more or less the same benefits as its two main rivals. However, i think Standard Chartered is at an disadvantage here as their global franchise is no where as big as HSBC and Citibank.

Guys, I would like to know something regarding to Direct Access. How's the cash back procedure works? Is it direct deduct from the amount or carry forward to deduct in next month (like Citibank Shell cc)?

Just to make sure, DA doesn't count any reward points right?

Petrol rebate is deducted on the statement date.
Hypermarket and MPH rebate after 10th of the next month.

Shell-Citibank sucks by carry forward and deduct after accumulating RM20....

I've got rebates at ISETAN, Guardian, KFC using my CIMB Mastercard. I've got bonus points too. Maybe it's different for Direct Access only ? If so better just use CIMB Mastercard.

CIMB Bank has year-round promotion only for their Mastercard. The promotion said has been ongoing since last year. For example :
- MPH Bookstores > 10% rebate on every 1st Sunday
- Guardian > 5% rebate on every 2nd Sunday
- ISETAN > 10% rebate on every 4th Sunday
- Cold Storage > 5% rebate on every 4th Sunday
- KFC > 10% rebate on the 1st day of the month
and many more !

By the way, is CIMB Bank no longer accept new application for VISA (except VISA Infinite) and JCB ? Currently only Mastercard and VISA Infinite are listed in their revamped website.
