ok guys, i just restored / jailbreak / install ultrasn0w all over again just to cover if i had left any of the tutorial steps..so now its working, guess i did missed sumthing. anyways, i already sent n mms to my iphone but nothing happen, are there any mms configurations i need to input 1st ? like nokia / se n all, we need to save the configuration files n whatnot to activate d mms settings rite, so..is it the same for iphone ? text messaging works great tho..

usually for the maxis the setting come by default, for others you need to manual setting the network/apn thingy i your iphone.

Help.. any shop doing this? i dont have my AT&T sim with me so i cant just update with itunes.. my fon is locked but im just using gevey.. lol help?

You don't need AT&T sim to activate.

You don't need to pay people to do it.

Try checking within cydia's installed packages. You may be able to uninstall it within Cydia.

@callmevil: you can do everything on your own. just follow the tutorial/guide on post 4. you don't need your AT&T sim to make it work.

i cant do step 2 as it only says "The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to bla bla bla"

why when i try to restore my iphone theres an error?

guyz, i used the restore file from a CD Maxis gave me, just now it works just fine, jailbreak / unlock n everything, but then when i tried to restore my contacts / sms / notes / calendar.. my phone became unstable, it keeps on switching on n off on the Slide To Unlock screen. so, again..i restored n jailbreak..its fine, but now i cant get maxis signal, again. reinstalled ultrasn0w couple of times, restarted couple of times.. still..nothing..

Did you update to itunes 8.2?

you have to use redsnow to activate the phone and the problem will be solve, try it.

do you restore using itunes or restore manually? if restore manually try to use the method teikwing show you.

Successfully unlocked mine. Took around 30 minutes.

Carrier : Maxis
Is 3G working : Yes
Is MMS working : Yes
Is tethering working : Don't have unlimited 3G plan so didn't get to try it out

using itunes 8.2 bro. still no luck for me after last nite. is it possible dat my iphone is faulty ?

ok guys, i've read everything all over again n it seems i missed this one step, but im not sure if it will solve d prob im having, so just to make it clear..
-do i need to take out my simcard during restore ? (coz i did restore my phone b4 this with sim card in my iphone n it works great)
-do i have to insert my simcard during jailbreak / redsn0w ?

Added on June 25, 2009, 8:06 amomg...this is very frustrating...when im done with the restore without simcard, jailbreak, unlock, Searching...No Service, after awhile, No SIM ! i give up..
anyone can help me out by providing unlocking service ? i dont wanna send to shops as i am not confident with them, not on their skills but rather not sure if they r trustworthy..

can i ask u something.....? where did ur iphone come from?

its not from local / original factory unlocked. n i have never used turbosim or whatnot b4 this. it works great, fine with yellowsn0w..infact, i did receive a signal right after i restore to 3.0 / jailbreak / unlock it for d 1st time, then when i got some probs with the phone, i did d restore again n now i cant seem to get the signal anymore.

that's an odd case. mine is working well previously with yellowsn0w too and so does ultrasn0w. mind to tell us which carrier you're on?

here's all the steps i went through (in my case):

1. Download and update iTunes to 8.2
2. Download redsn0w 0.7.2
3. Download iPhone 3G 3.0 firmware
4. Restore iPhone 3G in iTunes to firmware 3.0
5. Jailbreak using redsn0w (install only Cydia)
6. Load Cydia and add Source "repo666.ultrasn0w.com"
7. Search for "ultrasnow" and download
8. Download completed (No signal yet)
9. Reboot iPhone
10. "Searching" comes up and Maxis carrier shows right after that.

*There's no need for me to take out the sim card at any time through out the restoring, jailbreaking and unlocking process.

do check again and go through the whole process again. if after everything and still failed, consult Hanxz here.
