Wonder if anyone has information about the price and availability of the Panasonic 20 mm pancake in Malaysia? It's getting rave reviews over at dpreview.

Quote: 'Overall, we can't help but conclude that the 20mm F1.7 is the first must-have lens for Micro Four Thirds, and one which especially makes sense with the compact-bodied E-P1 and GF1.'

Nice.

Kyl: No one, seeing panasonic has ATROCIOUS track record of bringing anything other than its compact lumix in malaysia.

I think its hard to get Panasonic/Olympus stuff in Malaysia sad.gif because of low demand...

Unless suddenly a lot of people buy E-P1/GF1, then maybe supplier will bring faster....

Added on September 28, 2009, 12:34 amLast week I scrambling to get a lens because my kit lens is spoiled. I'm lucky able to buy 17mm f/2.8 2nd hand for RM650 together with the viewfinder. I find that the pancake is the best lens compare to kit lens. E-P1+17mm makes a very good traveller camera. I hang it on my neck for 6 days and I don't feel a thing.

Then I change to kitlens and I feel very heavy....

nice bag!!! How come you use the 14-42mm lens? You should get 17mm f/2.8. Its smaller for your
handbag. Now I only use 17mm. Don't bother to use 14-42mm. Too big to lug around. I hang the camera
on my neck when i do street photography...and no one really bother me... seems like its a good street
camera haha...

yes, RM3299 for GF1 + 14-28mm lens

I was at the Panasonic Eco Life convention at Midvalley Convention Centre this morning and they told me the Lumix GF1 + 20mm F1.7 lens would be RM3299. Something just don't add up here. I was like puzzled because they told me 14-45 kit will not be available. I find it atrocious! How could they not bring in 14-45 kit because thats the basics. If the 20mm costs RM1799, then 3299 for the kit doesn't sound too bad eh?

Ah... that sounds more like it. I would prefer the GF1+20mm though. But at the same time the EP-1's (dual lens kit) pricing is pretty attractive now.
