I said it is possibly my next target which means I don't have it now haha. But since it's somewhat a Leica...it should be amazing.

RM3.3K from shashinki:
http://shashinki.com/shop/olympus-zuiko-12...ens-p-1546.html And reading from reviews, it is a very very good lens. But the size is too big for me and it defeats the purpose of me getting the E-PL1 in the first place - compactness. This post has been edited by faidz85: Apr 2 2010, 10:13 AM |

Tell us what are your gears.
Like me, the E-PL1+pancake+kitlens+lenspen fits perfectly inside a small Nat Geo bag: http://shashinki.com/shop/national-geograp...facturers_id=84 |

Welcome onboard!
I don't think the art filters can be stacked with other colour settings. |

@ gogo2
I'm not sure what you meant but I think you never used any E-Px? Art filter is like its name suggests. It acts more like a lens filter. Meaning that the art effects can only be seen on a newly captured picture. I'm bad at explaining. Maybe this can give you some rough idea and hopefully someone else can explain it better than me. Also, welcome visitorfromhell69 to the M43 side! |

That's what I mean though I never mentioned the part the preview is available in live view. Like I said, I'm bad in explaining! Haha.

I believe the performance of the E-P and E-PL is similar but not the same.
There's an article in the net somewhere that compares the E-P2 and E-PL1. While the E-PL might seem like its like the combination of features from E-P1 and E-P2, the performance also was cut down. e.g: Lower max ISO (IINM), slightly lesser IS performance, lesser build quality. All these are some of the cons of the E-PL1. So it all depends on you whether you need to pay extra for extra performance, or you can just save some money and resort for a lesser build quality(the E-PL1 does not feel cheap at all) and lesser higher end performance. As for me, I don't need to shoot at high ISO. ISO1600 is already enough for me. Built in flash? Why not? The popup flash in the E-PL1 is good enough for me though I don't use it that often. I prefer natural colour and the flash will only be used to fill in. IS? I've been using IS-less camera before this and it was not a big problem for me. IS is always good and I think the IS in the E-PL1 is adequate for me. Anyways, anyone knows where can I get Nat Geo strap in retail stores similar like this? http://shashinki.com/shop/national-geograp...rap-p-1785.html or even cheaper http://yamiya.com.my/store/product.php?pro...&cat=288&page=1 Thinking of getting it to pair it up with my white camera. Or should I just get it from ShaShinki/Yamiya? I'm not a fan of online stores other than those who posted in the forums. This post has been edited by faidz85: Apr 3 2010, 10:25 PM |

Just another E-PL1 review just in case anyone missed:
http://www.engadget.com/2010/04/01/olympus-e-pl1-review/ Anyways, let's talk about memory card. I'm using 8GB Toshiba's class 4 card and I'm thinking of getting an upgrade to that. What are my options? This post has been edited by faidz85: Apr 5 2010, 01:13 PM |

Yup, correct.
I think E-PL1 is the best mix of features and simplicity. It takes better picture than my D40 and when my sister even produced better pictures than her friend's fully equipped D5000(with flash and everything). People need to know that DSLR isn't the only option they have to take good pictures. This post has been edited by faidz85: Apr 5 2010, 01:24 PM |

1 thing about the E-PL1 is the lack of the AF assist LED...that makes focussing in low light hard.
