May i know what kind of lens are you using on your GF1 and what adapter?? . It seems like a CCTV lens. Just my guess..

I got an OM adapter for my e-p1 recently and i just love the combination with the old zuiko 50mm f1.8. Here is a photo i take with the lens.



Aperture: Couldn't remember maybe 1.8 or 2.8
Camera: Olympus E-P1
Exposure: 0.008 sec (1/125)
ISO Speed: 400
Exposure Bias: 0 EV

Oh..nothing fancy.

Just that i happens to have the camera with me and i was walking with a friend on a fine evening. As my place is very near to the airport, a plane flying by is a common sight. Held the camera above my head and took the shot. That's about it..and a lil bit of pp.

Agreed . Go and get yourself the epl1..It's much better for beginners.

I bought e-p1 and it took me sometimes to understand what is shutter speed, aperture and how to use it when you are going to take pictures as the e-p1 is actually my first 'dslr' can i say dslr?? The learning curve is very steep but if you are willing to learn e-p1/e-p2 might be the thing for you.

The concept is more towards a point n shoot camera but with interchangeble lenses. Epl1 have built in flash and the menu and settings is very inutiative. The hot shoe on top give you an option to add other accesories such as the viewfiender and mic.

As for me, e-pl1 is supposed to be an ep1 camera at first launch..Why didn't olympus think of this at first.

I noticed in your flickr pages that you're using the four third's 50mm f2.0 macro lens on your e-p1. .

I heard the lens is very sharp wide open and suitable for portraiture work. How's the handling and the AF? Is the AF too slow? Total damage RM ??

I might be considering this...if i have money

I just got my self a present. Four third 50mm f2.

Love this lens very much, it is very sharp wide open. Feels solid with the four third adapter. But the AF is very slow however, result is breathtaking even before PP. So sharp wide open. It give you the 'Wow' factor. . Recommended...if anyone don't mind the af speed. Four third lens rule..

The pics were edited from RAW files in lightroom as i guess you can pull out the best images from the RAW files.

Shooting jpegs is fine if you're not into any post processing. Usually i used to shoot using RAW+ SF. Storage is cheap nowadays. If i'm lazy to PP, just use the jpeg.

The RAW files is actually a film or negative in digital days. Better to keep the film 'RAW' as you might never now what might comes for you if you need it again.

Lucky you. I heard that they're going to launch it during summer. It's very exciting to hear some news such as this.

The mirrorless camera will become more competitive with the sony offerings as more competitors join in. Hope the price will go down and consumers will definitely benefit from this.

One question, does it have the same design as the mockup model??

Wow..i'm impressed actually, if you said so, as the size is very small to fit a lens with an APS-C sensor, even if sony wanted to use an adapter for the compatiblity with its alpha SLR lenses it would still be not feasible or to bulky.

Might be sony will opt to design a new lineup of compact lenses for its new format.

And I couldn't see any hot shoe on the mockup model. Probably it will come out with built in flash.??

I think Pana and Oly is in good position right now. Sony is just a little too late but it has the chance to do it right.

Oly just need to improve AF speed as Panasonic AF and it will be perfect. Panasonic has everything except the body IS and need to improve more on the JPEG engines. Just my two cents.
