wow awesome! i beg to differ in the Detail Comparison, i think E-P1 (left) is more detailed than 500D (right)!!!

With this kind of performance (better than dSLR), no wonder people are scrambling to get their hand on one.
I think I might get one soon... hopefully.... icon_rolleyes.gif

Yeah, E-P1 is quite expensive since its just introduced. And furthermore, price drop will be slow because of the demand is high.

But I don't dig 17mm f/2.8 anymore. Because 20mm f/1.7 has come out:

If not mistaken, you'll need an adapter to use the other lenses other than original E-P1 lenses. correct me if I'm wrong on this...
*
You're wrong dear. All m4/3rd no need adapter. You only need adapter for 4/3rd lens (those e-series olympus lens).

The adaptor from panasonic fits on the E-P1 so why shouldnt it fit the G1?
*
I read from other forum that it is identical. So just buy the cheapest one.

I'll update front page with Price and LYN seller. Any seller want to put in front page can PM me.

QUOTE(KittyKat @ Jul 5 2009, 10:19 AM)
Hi girls and guys, good day.

I'm planning to get the E-P1 for my girlfriend (then myself can hak milik and play play also of course, hehehe) and hope to get it by the week as she will be travelling on the coming w/end and wish to use it. No problem rite??? Yep, but i'm planning to get her the body and 17mm pancake itself only. She dont really like to care too much on zooms, VF, etc etc so i thought that it'll be great suit for her, the EP-1 with pancake only, with LV and good single focal lens.

Just wondering if there's anybody offering the silver body + 17mm pancake itself only? If no, i'll have to settle with the twin kit lens + VF package. If that's so, anyone interested on the 14-42mm and VF? I'm willing to let go as it'll be rather redundant.

Hope you girls and guys can help me out, thnks.
*
If you got the twin lens kit, you can sell off your 14-42mm and VF in LYN garage sales. But ask ur gf to use it first. Maybe she'll like it
after she got the whole set. smile.gif

Do you think flash is necessary based on this photo? (taking photo indoor). Not sure
if f/2.8 is fast enough for indoor photography.

add in info

according to olympus malaysia, the E-P1 case will be release in september and price TBA so there is no olympus case provided with E-P1
so they decided to came out a case(locally) to fit the E-P1,price TBA
*
Hopefully they give it free as introductory price. Haha...

Anyway, as ianho said, the kit combination is a bit weird. At least, all silver kit is more making sense. From dpreview, there's silver kit:
E-P1 Kit Silver/Silver
(E-P1 body silver & M. ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 14-42mm 1:3.5-5.6 lens silver)

But I hope for all silver dual lens kit too.

need to read more reviews before deciding whether it's really good in other departments.. IQ alone doesnt make a camera great..

Just talking about the New Era title.

Anyway, how do you find the stevedigicam review? I would consider stevedigicam as one of the better review on the net.

this camera handling is slow, not responsive, and not intuitive. hence, not suitable for street photography.
*
Well, its not going to have D300 performance. But from other forum, the handling is better than expected due
to earlier preview that AF is slow. Due to low expectation, people are actually feel happy with the E-P1 performance.
It's definitely faster than P&S. Street photography is ok. But not sport photography.

Anyway, E-P1 has now achieve 19.3% market share in Japan and is growing:

I am going to watch Tour De France in a week time, do you recommend this camera when I take pics of the cyclists zooming past me? I dont want to bring a big SLR camera as I will cycling for two days to follow the Tour. Dont want to carry heavy items, sakit belakang nanti... smile.gif

For video wise, I will be using my iphone 3gs and tweetreel application to post my video. I just need a camera to capture the cyclists face when the climb tough Mt Ventoux aka Mt Baldy..
*
Depend on situation. If the cyclist zooming towards you and you want to have focus tracking with high speed shots, then it might not do the trick.
But if you manual focus and high speed shutter, yes, I think you'll be able to take those photos.
