I didn't know about about the volumetric thingy until the incident today...

Usually I just check the rate at Pos Laju website by selecting in the region and weight. As usual, this time I check the rate to send a 1kg item to Sabah from Peninsular is RM11.00, so I quoted the buyer RM11.00 for postage.
When I go and post that time, that fellow said need to use volumetric and the cost is RM35.88! After deducting the super tip profit margin... I need to pay RM 12.00 extra from my own pocket for this trade!

It's a lesson I learn which cost RM 12.00, worth it?

I think PosLaju is still ok and it is cheapest amongst others local courier service. A set of speakers with 10KG is expected just around RM70-RM80.

So far no problem sending item using poslaju (used hard disk, RAM, handphone, etc.) and able to reach to the buyer within 12 hours from Kuching > any parts of Peninsular Malaysia.

Hi guys...wanna ask if anyone has any idea if I could open an account, like with Fedex and the rest with Poslaju/EMS or not? For sending and receiving parcels overseas? Do they provide any discounts?

Thanks notworthy.gif

IMO the tracking number doesn't work. Only work after my buyers receive the items. Like they SMS me then I go check using the tracking number on poslaju website then can see item delivered. So far I'm satisfied with Poslaju. smile.gif Fast!

I sent Motherboard and similiar items before. One thing make sure your packaging has cushioning in it, especially for items that are fragile. I shipped MOBO last time I stuff newspapers and strips of paper in the box as cushioning. No need to buy the box from them if not needed. Ordinary kotak kasut can already. biggrin.gif

POSLAJU fuel surcharge has increase from 10% to 25%

Previously, within peninsular Malaysia for 500g and below:
(4.50+10%)+5% = 5.1975 after round up became RM5.20

Now, effective starting 1st October 2008, within peninsular Malaysia for 500g and below:
(4.50+25%)+5% = 5.90625 after round up becomes RM5.90

Between peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak for 500g and below would be: RM8.55
Between peninsular Malaysia and Sabah for 500g and below would be: RM9.20

Hi,

Need help here. I bought items from UK (first time), was given a tracking code starting with 2 letter RJ. When I checked on royal mail, it said items already in Malaysia on 25/9. However when i called 1-300-300-300, the person said my package is not in yet.

This is really confusing. Has Pos Malaysia lost my parcel?

Hope anyone could help me or advise. Thank you.

1)less than 500g should be around RM5.90 for within peninsular, RM8.55 for between peninsular and Sarawak, RM9.60 for between penisular and Sabah
2)same as 1
3)not recommended to use poslaju
4)depends on which is higher, the volumetric or the weight. wrapped properly and check at the post office
5)same as 1

Instant only tracking works if you post the items at PPL (Pusat poslaju at major POS) center only - if post from small post offices - the items can only be tracked after reaching the destination's PPL.
