I set out on a goal to actually lose weight. i have been 80kg since i started my gym program (2 months and running)
going 3 times a week to gym
right now i'm still 80kg. isn't that weird?
altho i've lost quite a number of fats around my tummy (belt from 3rd to 5th button)
the weight is still the same..
i don't think in 2 months i could get that much muscle to cover for the fat loss..

basically monday to sunday i eat the same thing

breakfast - usually milk, 2 half boil eggs, roti bakar
lunch - anything under the sun, mostly chap fan or mee hoon. chap fan i tend to take more meat
dinner - mom cook. i take half bowl of rice (sometimes quarter) and just vege and protein.

my workout (cause i'm new) is machines, a little dumb bell workouts and 15minute 10.0km.h treadmill

thanks!

Dude... do you know muscle is heavier than fat?

You should cut back on your protein, egg and meat. Take more veges. Cut back on your chap fan / mee hoon. Infact.. cut your carbohydrates. You can continue your treadmill. Infact.. go longer.. like 1 hour.

Muscles are heavy. And bones too.

Protein intake is ok. And cut the carbs if needed.

Maybe you'd like to add some HIIT to your cardio?

split out ur meal to 5-6 (small one) to avoid any starvation (which leads to fat storage).

HIIT? yea i read somewhere.. like walk spring walk sprint right?
will try that..

what i'm trying to do now is.. lose weight while gaining muscle.. is it possible?
i forgot to add that i am also using protein shake aka muscle tech.. will switch to Optimum 100% after many advise from sifus..

still weird. arm got a little bigger, chest can see abit line, tummy smaller, leg smaller a bit.. but weight still the same. this gym science is really confusing to say the least..

(don't know how to do 6 meals a day cause i'm working.. =( )

Added on June 12, 2009, 10:43 ambtw iamyuanwu..
i take very minimal rice..
like if the place is round maybe 30% is rice rest is vege and meat and fish..
very minimal only..

It sounds like you lost some fat and gained some muscles. So I suppose you should keep doing whatever you've been doing.

Try to have oat for breakfast, and if can not to toast the bread. Make sure you eat wholegrain wholemeal bread.

The best is chap fan outside. Sometimes I cook my own lunch at home in the morning. Chicken breast, sausages with a tuna sandwich + cheese.

If got no time, get whey protein. No choice.

You shouldn't get so hung up about what the weight scale tells you.

I have lost quite abit of fat and put on muscle, but the weight scale shows negligible difference in the actual weight. And the reading goes up or down quite alot depending on whether I ate or drank alot before weighting myself.

If you want to see how much progress you are really making, get a measuring tape and measure areas like your arm, chest, waist etc.

And yeah, if you really wanna weight yourself, make sure it's in the morning before you have breakfast.
