Hi michael9413, which tyre you asking to throw away? P7 or MY-01? And what better tractions tyres to get for RM200/pc? Pls recommend and if you could share the location too (within Klang Valley that is) thumbup.gif ...hehehe Time for tyre change is coming soon.

Btw, P7 traction is rated A...as for MY-01, I gotta check with my fren who is using them now...I used to use them..I think should be A as well, but not sure.

the MY-01 la.... haha... sorry forget to mention....
Cheaper choice and comfort performance it will be Falken 912 or Michelin Primacy LC both are only A rated (if not mistaken)....
for performance you can try Hankook V12 around RM200/pc, Michelin PP2 RM230/pc, Toyo T1R RM250/pc also and the BS Adrenalin RE001 RM280/pc... all these are rated AA
once you tried traction AA then you will know how bad is the grip of the MY-01 or D-01...
cheers...

Thanks Michael, for the tips. I used to run BS RE001. It was good, but can't continuously buy them coz a little on the pricey side. Besides, although tyres are a main component in a car (as it is the only thing that touches the road surface), so many other factors which makes a 'fast' car ('fast' here is relative to an individual's taste of top-speed on a straight road or fast corner in/out). Suspension set-up...bla, bla.

Well, back to the tips provided, regarding Michelin Primacy LC and the Falken 912:
1) Where would you recommend to get them from?
2) Any idea of the lastest price range for the size 195/50/R15?

I thank you in advance for your answers..cheers!

well Falken 912 as per feedback from the user for normal driving is ok... Michelin Primacy LC some ppl found that it is not that grippy quietness is quite good in deed but still u has to set your preference lo... as both tires never meant to work as good as the RE001 (as in traction) that you used b4... if you wan something nearer to the performance of RE001 but have a lil of comfort then V12 is ur choice... it is cheap and performing well but what i don like is directional (tends to roar a lil louder than assy tires) and the hydroplaning coz i used to PP2 already... haha PP2 is 1 of the best in this categories...
the price for V12 195/55 R15 around RM190... Falken 195/50 R15 about RM170 and Primacy LC 195/50 R15 should be around RM180... V12 i'm sure that u can find 50 series...

Just changed new tyres for my Myvi.. 195/50/15 Hankook v12.. Surprisingly very very silent compared to previous tyres Goodyear NCT 5.. In terms of comfort, better than S1 Evo on my City but handling and cornering ability S1 Evo better... Hehe.. Bought it for RM 175 per piece at Klang.. Damn cheap and good smile.gif

If u guys wanted to look for hankook, u can come to USJ 19 industrial area (just right after USJ 19 City mall, aka formerly known as Digital 19 mall) and there a shop which is also an authorized distributor of hankook and lenso rims. I;m sure they have plenty of hankook tyres as well.

I will plan to install my rims n tyres here too. smile.gif

it depends what tire you are on and what do you need... smile.gif higher PSI will give you more handling but lose on comfort...
it is around 32 PSI i think ok kua... since my Vios which is on 195/55 R15 i put 34 PSI at the front...

higher PSI (pressure) gives u less rolling resistant and FC will be better
BUT your ride is gonna be bumpy and grip is gonna be lesser...

lower PSI gives u better grip and handling BUT increased rolling resistance which will translate to higher FC...

ever wonder why track kaki's always reduce their tyre pressure to 4-5 PSI lower then usual before going out to track?

I did ask for V12 Evo and they still have stock. They priced me 205/40/r17 for RM290 which is almost more or less like Tek Ming.

Too bad this month my financial is in ruins and seeing its always not advisable to go to upgrade/buy new parts before CNY, i will do it after CNY.
