it is ok i'm using it wilt my ori Vios rim already...
it is the minimum size required for 195 tires... smile.gif
for that size you can get Primacy LC Michelin Luxury Comfort tires... quiet and comfort...

185/60 R14 u have only Falken 912 and Michelin XM1... but i prefer u try 912 coz it is a performance comfort while XM1 is entry level some more then price is not difference by much... 912 might be cheaper also... smile.gif
the only thing is 912 might be a lil noisy than XM1 after 5000~10000km... hard to say...

yes u can change to 195/50 R15 for better performance tire choice...
u have Bridgestone RE001, Michelin PP2, Toyo T1R, Yokohama AD08 or S Drive Federal Evo or RSR... those tire give you more handling and grips... but u can try those 195/55 R15 just nice within the 3% rules... which u have more choice of premium/luxury comfort tires like Yokohama C Drive, Toyo DRB
so it is ur choice... or u can find Toyo Teo Plus for 185/60 R14 which cost around the 15" tire also... RM200 if not mistaken

cannot that is over... but 195/55 R15 give you comfort also with C Drive, Primacy LC, DRB... is a bad concept to assume that 55 series is really low profile and it did not have comfort... 55 series is in the middle 50 is low profile and further on until 35 series...
Primacy LC and C Drive will not get u wrong... comfort is the tire design for...

never trust GY middle and entry range of tire...
hmmm... if Michelin Primacy LC advert is right this tire should last... but still base on ur driving style...
my gf's Iswara at hometown Michelin and Yokohama Tires last her more than 2 yrs already... i already told her when she get back make sure check all the tire for side wall minor crack... if have change it...
last time my tire similar with her size cannot even last me for 1yr & 3 mths... so it depends what is ur average KM/year... if like 40k or more should be less than 1.5 yrs...
as i told you tire OTR life is only about 3 yrs... more than that is dangerous as it's material changed properties already, it can burst any time... comfort tire life should be around 50k only... GY Duraplus 100k km advert is bullshit, cos u need to check the sidewall... tire test is done on a control environment and similar road so it can be some but in reality duno the wear rate can last that long or not...
remember there is always pro and cons... Good traction tire will not last that long and tire that last longer is not that good in traction... so do you wanna save ur pocket or ur life... ur choice... cheers...

for 195/55 R15 u have 4 comfort which ppl recommended Cheapest 1st.. Falken 912, Yokohama C Drive, Michelin Primacy LC, Toyo DRB... toyo is quite expensive try others 3...
i heard tire price already increase, so 912 should cost you around RM190, C Drive around RM220 and Primacy LC around there too...

well is the tire range that differs the traction, handling and comfort...
of course 185/60 R14 tires is very much in comfort but it's traction and also handling lose quite a lot to the performance categories in the 15"... from 195/50 R15 or 195/55 R15 u have plenty of UHP (Ultra High Performance) tire to choose from where 14" tire did not have... and also it's comfort is more towards middle range tire (for camry, accord, altis, civic...) which give better traction and handling too...
your choice to choose... my old toy on 14" rubber too but i'm planing to change to 15" for better tires range... but i have not decided any thing out yet as my 14" rubber still have at least 60% more to wear...

it might be long but after u read it u will understand more lo...
BTW if you jump into 15" middle range tire or UHP tire u have totally different experience, it gives you more confidence brows.gif

i think it is parallel imported lo... must becareful a lil on that coz some tire compound it is not suitable to use in a tropical country like our country...

that is very cheap... look at the Manufactured date if it is more than 1 yrs from now then i know what happen... smile.gif

huh? confident in ?
act 60 n 55 is not a big diff rite? i mean comparison of the comfort
*
QUOTE(McRyan @ Feb 6 2010, 07:36 PM)
act 185 n 195 r not mch diff rite ? i mean the stabilty they give
*
the comfort is depended on the tires compound and it's side wall hardness also...
u can't even compare to a sports tire's comfort with a luxury comfort tires like C Drive and Primacy LC or Toyo C1S...
for the size i recommend u, eg. 195/55 R15 we have GY F1 GSD-3, BS Adrenalin RE001, Michelin PP2, Yokohama S Drive, Yokohama AD08, Toyo T1R, Toyo DRB, Hankook V12(all performance tire) or Falken 912, Michelin Primacy LC, Yokohama C Drive, BS ER30 (all comfort tires)...
all the tires i mention is at the same size but different comfortableness... the 1st few tires is more towards handling and performance but between them u still have different comfort and characteristic... example we take Yokohama S Drive, Michelin PP2, BS RE001 and Toyo T1R for comparison... they are around the same price but in between then u have different comfort also... PP2 known if it's side wall hardness so do RE001 and S Drive, but T1R, DRB n V12 is a bit softer so better comfort... but in terms of tire performance u still have some pro and cons... according to Opel testing it's Corsa with 214/45 R17 tires... PP2 is the best Wet Longitude and Hydroplaning, while V12 is best in Braking in Dry and Wet & comfort, but directional tires will roar after 50% used...

even comfort tires also similar, Michelin Primacy LC is know to be very quiet and comfort, but to some ppl it is too soft of spirited highway drives...C Drive is better in handling and also 912 & ER30 vs Primacy LC... so all the tires have pros and cons... it depends what u want... and ur budget...

if you want comfort with good handling and dont mind is directional tires is Toyo T1R, Toyo DRB and Hankook V12...
if you want comfort with quiet and don mind the handling in corners & high speed maneuver then 912, Primacy LC, C Drive and ER 30...
ur choice now...

well ur decision... but i can tell u 55 series does not means u will lose much comfort... change the RE030 tires can try... coz BS tires might be a lil stiff... so u can try out Primacy LC or Falken 912 for more comfort on 195/55 R15...

just done balancing 3 months back and now my inner side front tires tread is thinner than the outer.
guess i need to do balancing / alignment again  sweat.gif

try to check the chamber if run more than 2~3 degree then u might need to adjust it...

Hi, thanks god i found this thread, would like to ask the questions for long time already. Some noob question and i'm sorry if some of you keep repeating the same answer in this thread.

Would like to change my tyres for my BLM (original is 13" Goodyear Ducaro)

1. Can recommend a best bang for the buck tyres but can give good handling, comfort and safety? What brand and model name?

2. What size?

3. What type of rim could fit that size?

4. How much is the tyres roughly?

5. Do i need to find rims that could fit the size of the tyres or all rims have different measurement?

Thanks so much.
________________________________________________________________________________

But what are the differences in term of handling, comfort and safety between 13" and 15" tyres?
*
15" is the best choice sure can fit into ur car... 195/50 R15 (fit the conversion well) or the thicker 195/55 R15 (it is just 0.5% out of the 3% rules)... 50 series give you better handling, but 55 series give you a lil more comfort... it is ur choice...
195/50 tires Michelin PP2, Yokohama Parada2, Yokohama A Drive R1, Yokohama S Drive, Yokohama AD 08, Toyo T1R, Dunlop D-01
195/55 Performance tires Hankook V12, Michelin PP2, Yokohama S Drive, Yokohama AD 08, BS Adrenalin RE001, Toyo T1R, Toyo DRB
195/55 Comfort tires Michelim Primacy LC, Yokohama C Drive, BS GR80

ur choice of RIMs, just get any 15" x 6.5jj or 15" x 6.0jj rims will do
set ur target of the budget if you have limited budget i would say change back to 175/70 R15 with Michelin XM1 or Yokohama A Drive... smile.gif skip Continental CC1, Sime, Silverstone and others...

3 yrs should change already... a tire OTR should not be more than 4 years from it's manufacturing date...
for ur size try out Yokohama C Drive you u wan comfort and silent drive...
Falken 912 also is better than 522 but it will but a lil noise after 50% used...

ur size is a bit odd la...195/55 R16 is not commonly available... comfort and quite then u need to upgrade to 205/50 R16... try to look for Asymmetric Pattern, Michelin PP2 is 1 of it, falken ziex 912 and Michelin Primacy LC is another good choice...

could be depend on the usage too. my friend's car cover more than 30k in a year, so his tires only last for
2 years  sweat.gif
btw, does the v12 available in 205/55/r15?  their site aren't very helpful. wanna pair it to my other ride.
*
well that is impressive... but a UHP tires will not last you more than 40k i think haha...
V12 if not mistaken don have that size... call Kai Shen and ask la... i just called toyo sales manager last week for toyo tires T1R availability... smile.gif

QUOTE(heizad @ Mar 1 2010, 03:02 PM)
may i know the price range for 175/65/R14 (myvi stock i think)?
*
hmmm... around RM160 can get... but no NCT5, powerblitz.... what ever... try to get 185/60 R14... Yokohama A Drive, Michelin XM1, Dunlop D-01 is better than them...

QUOTE(jamik @ Mar 1 2010, 06:22 PM)
im planing to get new tyre for my car, currently im using sport spring(lowerd) n using persona steel rim 15x6jj..
what brand/model of tyre i can get for rm180 195/55/15?
tq guys..
*
Hankook V12, Falken 912, Yokohama A Drive or C Drive maybe also...

QUOTE(yngwie @ Mar 1 2010, 06:31 PM)
you can try yokohama a.drive for slightly higher price but still under 190 bucks.
whatever is it, just stay away from nct 5  smile.gif
*
+1... haha totally banned so this called PERFORMANCE tires by Goodyear... it kills in the wet...

QUOTE(jamik @ Mar 1 2010, 08:32 PM)
owh.k.. how about hankook v8..?? have any1 use it before..?
btw if posible i want to get V type one, "potong air" rclxms.gif
*
ZZZzzz.... wat potong air... pls... ZZzzz... directional give more grips on the road than Asymmetric or Symmetric Pattern tires...
not for potong air la... duh... but it still depends what kinda 'good' tires u buy... NCT5 (Traction A), D-01 (Traction A), MY-01 (Traction B)... if you want nice tires get the one with Traction rated at AA... those which is rated with A or B not the type i would take a peek also... don think Bridgestone will give you good tires always... even entry level tires like Yokohama A Drive or Michelin XM1 have better traction rating than Bridgestone MY-01

Try V12 la... around RM200 now i think last time only RM180 only... haha... u are too late this batch they raised the price...

hi guys, today i bought set of Bridgestone potenza adrenalin re001 205/50/16 year 2009, rm400 each, quite pricey - the friendly towkay told me that the price already hike sky high, dunno its true or not...

last time i used falken ziex 9XX, forgot the number, year 2007, but i just used it for 2 year jan 2008- feb 2010, all tyres sidewall cracked, 1 punctured and the other 3 might puncture someday...

my car is avanza 1.3 manual, i dont mind the rim size since my FC quite good, half tank from serdang to gurun, aprox 20 liter for 450-500km, 80-90km/h (using falken)

the question, will there be any significant change to my FC since these new tyres are very gripy? to tell the truth, i love the grip and comfort from the tyres, tried on equine bumpy road with lots of potholes to avoid and long run on kesas highway, loved it...
*
well for that size i thought of Toyo C1S... smile.gif
BTW that should be Falken912... yea Falken has this history but Toyo Manager told me they have 7 yrs warranty on their tires on cracking too... but i don think u can use the tires for 7 years and drive only 70k km... haha...

er... not sure yet but S Drive is out of my view at this moment... as the Opel test result shows that it is not better than T1R and worst T1R is lower rating than PP2... so still wondering swap back to PP2 and accept it will make my ride better in handling but loose out in comfort...
