Free from smoking for 4 weeks now... after more than 20 years.
I switched to cigars because I find it is less addictive than cigarettes. Took several attempts but finally the last one took me a year and two months to finally stop. Now I even enjoy coffee without any cravings.

Someone uploaded it years ago in this forum that helps me to understand the psychological nicotine addiction. Thanks a million. smile.gif

Part of the quitting process involves in understanding nicotine addiction.
Plenty of good sources here: WhyQuit.com

Wow, Alfie Allen is also in that video (The Teenage Guy who coughs after his first cig)! If anyone watches Game of Thrones, you will know who he is.

Anyway I've been an ex-smoker for a year already while still maintaining. Been a smoker for around 3 short years but still I guess the quitting process is the same no matter how "veteran" of a smoker you are.

Gotta say though, quitting cold turkey was a godawful experience as I do not really know how to cope with the stress at that moment and also gained more than 10kgs in the process. cry.gif

My opinion is no. If you quit smoking then your body fitness will grow up for sure. Now a days lot's of ways of quit smoking you know like- vaping, e-cigarettes, e-juice and so on. You can try one of them as an alternative ways of smoking. If you would like to know more you can try here: https://www.blacknote.com/

Hope this will help you to quit smoking. Thanks!!!

About this, I've heard from my friend who plan to quit after smoke for like 3 or 4 years already. He quit for many times via cold turkey but doesnt work, ended up holding ciggi again. He went to this new open centre in PJ and surprisingly, he quit it after 1 session of laser treatment. So far from what he told me, he dont have any withdrawal symptom because the centre actually help in giving advice on how to reduce withdrawal symptom. Can google about it if needed. Hope it helps. smile.gif

Stop smoking and avoid smoking environments is the fundamental for good lungs, heart and ur body. I'm working in the hospital and seeing a lot of patients suffering due to smoking either cigarette, vaping or cigar. More than 50% of patients in the ICU and CCU having heart and lung problems are smokers. U may be the lucky one who haven't pronounce any health problems now, but may coz others problems in ur future. If u love ur self and ur family members, stop smoking.
Trust me, I'm a physiotherapist.

Everywhere you look, everyone is smoking. The world is suffering from a serious addiction and people don't know it. We have to take steps to discourage this addiction. The countries need to stop selling cigarettes openly. The shops should be fined/closed for selling cigarettes to students.

To get spurred, you require an intense, individual motivation to stop, it might be to shield your family from used smoke, or lower your possibility of getting lung growth, coronary illness, or different conditions, or to look and feel more youthful, pick a reason that is solid enough to exceed the desire to light up....
