You may consider clinical hypnotherapy to quit smoking.

Hypnosis is defined as an altered state of awareness in which you appear to be asleep or in a trance. Clinical hypnosis may be used to treat certain physical or psychological problems. For instance, it is frequently used to help patients control pain. It is also used in a wide range of other conditions such as weight issues, speech disorders, and addiction problems.

There is debate about how hypnosis works. Some people believe that when you are hypnotized, you relax and concentrate more, and are more willing to listen to suggestions -- such as giving up smoking, for example.

Even though you appear to be in a trance during hypnosis, you are not unconscious. You are still aware of your surroundings, and -- despite what many stage performers may claim during an entertaining show -- you cannot be made do to anything against your will. In fact, brain tests performed on patients during hypnotism sessions have shown a high level of neurological activity.

Hypnosis for Smokers
During hypnosis for smoking cessation, a patient is often asked to imagine unpleasant outcomes from smoking. For example, the hypnotherapist might suggest that cigarette smoke smells like truck exhaust, or that smoking will leave the patient's mouth feeling extremely parched.

Spiegel's method is one popular smoking cessation hypnosis technique that focuses on three main ideas:

-Smoking poisons the body
-You need your body to live
-You should respect your body and protect it (to the extent you'd like to live)

The licensed clinical hypnotherapist teaches the smoker self-hypnosis, and then asks him or her to repeat these affirmations anytime the desire to smoke occurs.


How to Find a Hypnotherapist
If you want to try hypnosis to help you quit smoking, ask your health care provider to recommend a good hypnotherapist.

Here are some tips when looking for a qualified hypnotherapist:
Make sure they are licensed, trained, and credentialed. Hypnosis for smoking cessation and other medical or behavioral reasons should only be done by someone who has a current license in a health care field, such as medicine, psychiatry, psychology, or nursing.
Ask some tough questions. Ask about their professional training.

There are some binaural beats using brainwave technology which may help to stop smoking.

So far, I try to reduce below 5 cigarrettes per day. On weekend, I can go smoke free.
Sugar free gums/candy does really help in reducing smoking.
I hope, I can stop smoking soon.

well i bought this nicorette gums.
the pharmacist recommended me 10 gums(15 in one strip) perday since i smoked arounf 30/35 sticks perday.
day 4 and only 4 gums used.. blush.gif

Gums are useful, but still contain some amount of nicotine but at a smaller scale...
Goodluck to you...I was sceptical about the usefullness of gums, since a doctor (who smoke)...
He says all the gums and nicotine patch is rubbish...
And he continues smoking...I think it may work on you...but not the doctor... blush.gif

Memang rubbish bro. Seriusly it is rubbish lol.

I tried quiting many times but every time after a week a so i end up fallig towards the cravings. But since i got the gums i replaced the stick with this instead.

But, at least you have tried although you failed...
Some people have no intention at all to quit smoking...
The increase in cigarratte price does have a positive impact on me in reducing the craving...
HACKS candy works very well for me in helping to curb my cravings...

I suggest brushing teeth regularly(3 times per day)...the mint flavor does help to reduce the cravings for cigarrete...

It's all in the mind bro.. tell yourself u want to quit smoking u can quit anytime .
U want you can buy those electronic cigarette then slowly cut down from there ..
Heard if u smoke E-Cig u will feel like quitting because totally no feel haha.

trust me bro....90% of my colleagues use the same exact alasan when they went over to e-cig.

now if u look at them they are no dif than us smokers.. addiction to another medium. that is all.

I recommend to reduce the tobacco consumption...
Try to lower consumption of tobacco...

Good habit is to drink a glass of water once you are craving for cigarrete...
Need to have a good diet as well to maintain weight and prevent obesity...

My cravings are my habits.

Daily otw to work
After lunch
When bored(i know very shitty)
Even watching certain channels in youtube.

So used to keep the somethinf between my fingers and towards the mouth

best is to have a great causing for quiting, i.e for wife/gf/child
Or just simply because for health reasons. Alot of people when they have great desire, they tend to quit all the bad habits. nod.gif
