if i'm not mistaken the default speed is 750/800 right?

so u tried 775/810 and it crashed?

btw, what ccc version were u using? maybe u should try 9.5 and give it another go
*
ok, i try using the new CCC 9.5 and it seems to be better.
i still can't overclock the card, not even a bit.
try 805 for the memory and the test result was failed.

the good news is that the green screen doesn't appear anymore.
i oso could play around with the manual fan speed (not overclocking) without the green screen appearing anymore
(previously everytime i adjust the fan speed and clik apply button, the green screen appear and computer hang)

but i didn't test extensively....will try more variation tonite when i get home from work...

sifus, i hav a question pls...

im running on Palit Sonic HD4850;

when i OC it 730Mhz core, 1050Mhz mem

then play games (such as GTA4 or other 3D games) after some time, d screen will blackout, then VPU recover comes up n then my desktop turn into very ugly 8 bit 640x480, then says cant detect my graphics card

i hav 2 reboot then only can play games again

if running on 725Mhz, 1035Mhz mem its sooo stable can play for many many hrs

I dunno if its bcoz of hot temp? or insufficient power? or my card got prob?

using stock cooler fan runs on 85%(sonic cooler ok not reference) n juice from Enermax FMAII 460W

hmmm..... i dun wanna invest in the wrong item...

I dun think u should get too upset with the outcome, i used to get similar bs with my 4850 back then. Can only oc extra 20mhz on core. But it managed to oc another 10mhz after i changed to a better psu, bu that's about it lol

4870 1GB can trade blows with gtx260 216 wit gtx260 216 taking advantage in more of the games.
wit high AA, 4870 1GB has the edge.

4870 512MB does not compete here.
but again, results also depends on resolution.

GTA 4? Triple core phenom II at least. Anything below is a no-no(high oc'ed c2d might work, but I don't know about this) Even then I play at 3.3 GHz(PhII x3 720BE here) instead of 2.8 GHz. It improves the small stuttering issue at 2.8 GHz.
