but i think d bios is not able to run unlocked core(s) for prime stable, same issue like my 790fxb & some asus boards.

copper need to be cooled actively.

saw some posts mentioned that they get locked ups when run prime blend test, exactly d same issue like mine (x3 720) b4...

just wait for msi to release legal version of core unlockin bios, gigabyte & asus have done it w/ hybrid acc & unleash... dfi is sloooooow as always....

from d peekture those bga ram sinks looked a 'lil short. i'd prefer those w tall fins coz imo they better in heat dissipation. let's not forget copper is gud in absorbin heat but slow in releasin 'em, so in this case, i think passively cooled alu ram sinks w tall fins will do a better job than d short copper bga ram sinks which is also passively cooled.

it'd be perfect if can find to mosfet coolers on old lp nf4 board...



alu = absorb heat slow, ok in dissipate heat even passively cooled.
copper = gud in absorbin heat but need to actively cooled for optimal performance.

iirc actively cooled copper pwns actively cooled alu.

what's d price diff between msi & asus bro? i think built quality of msi board is ok nowadays, bios wise seems ok to me as well coz they have update on monthly basis. i was thinkin of d same board too b4 decided to stick w ddr2. ddr3 ram is way outta reach rite now, won't go for value ram coz i know sooner or later i'll shift to performance ram once they're available.

lightning doesn't strike twice at d same place bro, it was pure luck that i managed to buy d twinmos value.

if not becoz of d high cost involved in switchin to ddr3, i mite end up w gd65 + mushkin ddr 1333. but luck wasn't on my side coz d ram snapped up by someone, outta frustration, i get d tj-09 instead...

d case was extremely cheap, got free aeroslot some more, can't resist then apply loan from wifey loh... i don't see any new tj-09 case sellin @ < $300 here so w/o thinkin twice i quickly submit d loan application...

u can't really know unless u touch it ya self coz there's no pwm sensor on biostar 790gx boards. at vcore < 1.45v, d mosfet still manage to handle prime imo if they're properly cooled.

i supposed pwm = chokes + mosfets. no so sure too...

u need to care more bout d fets rather than chokes coz they're more vulnerable imo. so far i never heard of blow chokes, only blown fets due to high volt on cpu.

woot bro, ur usin d big brother of cm aerogate 1 which i'm usin for fan controllin. i have 2 if 'em to control all d fan inside my case...

as for d thermal probe, u can't sandwich it between d cooler & d ihs, just stick it at d side of base of d cooler. temp wise i think it's safe to take +/- 5'c.

sandwich a thermal probe between heatsink base & ihs is always a non no bro, i used to think d same way u did but i was corrected by someone of higher knowledge back then.

finished installin everything but still need to mod d side panel... imo those premium case should allocate some space at d right panel for hidin cables, it's kinda hard to hide even sleeved cables, we need something like this...

what could be easier than mild/mid clockin a BE chip? just raise d cpu multi and stress, if no failure keep increasin cpu multi, if fail add vcore & stress again... and d instructions go on & on until u hit d limit w/ ya coolin & voltage of safety range.

cf capability, ability to unlock core(s), decent oc... ppl tend to complain while forgettin what d board can offer, lets not forget d affordable price tag as well...

take it step by step bro, u have yet to get familiar w/ d board, once u have then we'll see d results comin, i'm sure of that...

now u see d diff between award bios & ami bios bro? they are in diff league i tell u...
bro, i managed a 3.7GHz prime stable w/ 3 cores only leh... 4 cores was only 3d benchable & we all know that it's wayyyyy easier than gettin it prime stable... keep it up...

bro, u mite forgot something here when comparin d clock, it's d case of cheapo 770 vs blardy expensive 790fx chipset, i'd say d result is beyond expectation if not awesome to u.

is aod workin well w this board, what are d voltage adjusts available?

did u encounter any sudden reboot w primin long hours?

coz bios limitation, that's what recommended by d bios modder else unbootable. can always play w htt oc to compensate d lower ht link multi mah...
