Why so fast release sequel? The MP player base havent even stable yet,as the game is not even 1 year old.

This is ridiculous and i hope they dont keep releasing sequels. Its not like L4D has no more potential to expand while the the game feels so empty, even till now.

I'll go FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU if TF3 sequel is announced.

QUOTE(Sewerspeakers @ Jun 2 2009, 03:49 PM)
Oh, and they said that they are trying to merge L4D1 and L4D2 altogether, to prevent these problem:

-People who want to play L4D1 campaign have to quit L4D2 and start L4D1
-Xbox360 users have to swap disc to play L4D1 or L4D2.
*
I dont see the reason why they cant just merge the game.

CoH did that, with OF and ToV.Still the same old exe,but you might have different campaigns.

Screw XBox.Causing whole lot of trouble.

QUOTE(Sewerspeakers @ Jun 2 2009, 04:09 PM)
So if its renamed to Left 4 Dead: Episode 2, and put price tag, you'll buy it?

I would.
Maybe because I want it, or plain reason to spend money,  tongue.gif

No.

They want to milk me with little content.No.

Even EP1 i also dont bother.

MW2 is November ler, not October, the 11.10.09 is using MM/DD/YY format.
Also that it comes a week earlier than L4D2.

The thing about merging L4D and L4D2 is on IGN preview.
*
MW2 is gonna rape L4D2 like no tomorrow.

Somehow,feels like this year,there is a lot of 2s.MW2,SC2,Operation Flashpoint 2,L4D2.

Game developers run ou of ideas for new IP?

Assassin's Creed 2, Uncharted 2 (oh wait thats not PC), Mass Effect 2.

You're right.  shocking.gif

Still got,Bad Company 2,DiRT2,Sup Com 2,DoW2(released).

2009 is the year of 2s.

QUOTE(secondrate @ Jun 2 2009, 05:29 PM)
Aiyah, all the 2s can rape this L4D2. Especially MW2 and ME2.

The gameplay video is so lame. The 'activate' icon is the same as L4D's. Come ON Valve.
*
ME2?

Whats that?

Shortest period of time between sequels award I think goes to L4D. I may stand corrected though.

ME2 = Mass Effect 2.

Now Hiring!
May 19, 2009 - Zoid
It's been an interesting week for us here on the Left 4 Dead team. This Monday, for instance, somebody accidentally told Robin Walker he had the power to fire people. In other interesting news, the Left 4 Dead team has all been fired.

Lucky for me, Robin's fired everyone at alphabetical order, and doesn't seem to realize there's a letter after "Y". (Don't tell him.) . Since then it's been pretty quiet. Every hour or so Robin gets on a horse and chases some Greek kid around.

So for now I'm safe, and trying to reassemble the team. Without anyone else to help, I just have this crossword puzzle created by the fine folks at tf2maps.net. So this will have to work as a job application. If you can get this done, that probably means you can spell, which is a good start.
from wat i think, l4d2 cause from this new team~

Whatever Valve is doing with L4D2,it's all against their own philosophy, quality, support and promise.TF2 took 6-7 years to make so that we get that fun game we have today.HL2 EP3 still have little or no sign of it,as Valve wants to have a good ending to HL2.Same for Portal 2.Even CS 1.4 still getting support now.

If they are so money minded and not concern at all on quality, they would have HL3,TF3,Portal 2,CS:S 2 etc all out by now.

Why cant L4D2 be like those games?

Im not surprised at all if the players are pissed with it.The community should be angry about it.

So, since they have all this content ready, they should sit on it for a few years just so that they can maintain their record of "valvetime"? What kind of silly logic is that?
*
I dont see why those content couldnt be a DLC that will be released in a or 2 year's time? L4D1 have so little content and it's a standalone game.People payed a full priced game for it.Unlike TF2 where it comes with Orange Box that offer a solid single player experience.

Again, they have all this content READY... they don't really have an obligation to stagger its release (Though it would be nice if they did).

The new Director ALONE tells me this couldn't possibly be DLC (It actually alters the map and weather... That's a pretty big jump over the current one). Please find me another example of DLC that has altered the original that much.

Also, to those of you saying "OMG, its daytime, t3h lame!", remember this is Valve we're talking about. They're probably not going to do a simple "Let's just turn the lights on" but will probably think it through (Like how they did with nightfall in the original).
*
Burnout Paradise didnt have any weather effects when it first release to the consoles.Full day and night cycle, plus, weather effects were added in a DLC after a few months.Bikes were also added to the game in another free DLC.

The Director does seem to have heaps of new feature, but releasing a sequel now is not a good idea at all.Considering it's a multiplayer game,as the new sequel will have a big impact on the community and fracture the current community.Besides, the sequel contradicts with Valve's promise to support the game for long term.Where are the L4D1 DLC? There are only 1.

It could be a worthy sequel if they actually put more time in it by delaying it for another 1-2 years,as more features are added as time goes by to the sequel and more time to polish it.There is nothing to do with the Valvetime or Blizzard's "When It's Done" ™.It's just that, from past experience,if a devs rush out a sequel too fast, the sequel is gonna be shit.Whether it's full of bugs,or not enough new features.Games are getting more and more complicated these days, while the expectations from gamers are getting higher,i really dont see why L4D2 shouldnt be delayed as time is needed to make a worthy sequel.I rather see the new Director and heaps of new features in L4D2 than what is in the current one.The current L4d2 sound like a half assed sequel to me.

This is no different than CoD is releasing every year.Thank gawd,Infinity Ward renamed the sequel of CoD4.

I didnt complain when SC2 or D3 took about 10 years to release. Good games take time to make.Crap games come out every year.L4D is a good game.If they keep the community busy with a few DLC,while develop L4D2 for a longer period. It would be a win win situation for the community and Valve.

Well if they make the melee weapons as deadly as they are in Dead Rising (Sans the decay) it'll be a pretty good tradeoff actually.

Yeah,it still depends on how is the implementation.

What i see now,not a good idea.

We'll see how it goes.

The more i read, the more i think some of the new tech just cant be a DLC.Especially the Director 2.0 part.

They still need more content though.

I think L4D2 is more like a franchise reboot in a sequel form.

Deja vu...i tell you man deja vu...i knew i seen this kind of shit before somewhere and now i finally able to recall: in unreal tournament 2003 and unreal tournament 2004.

At least in unreal 2004 Epic gave discount to unreal 2003 customer  sad.gif

Edit: posting error

If it's done like UT2003 and UT2004,i dont mind as UT2004 is a huge improvement over UT2003.

On the other hand,if it's like NFS,fcuk you Valve.
