I think the main problem is the price.L4D was charged as a full priced game,which is RM139,while the content it has is more or less as much as TF2.TF2 was priced lower and it's is part of Orange Box.People dont feel so ripoff,whether they buy TF2 standalone or from Orange Box as they have HL2 and Portal to mess around.Then,out of no where and less than a year,Valve announced L4D2.Gamers still have to pay full price for a updated version of the game,een though it has a lot of new features.If Valve give a discount for existing L4D owners,or sell the game at lower price,i think people wont complain so much.
This isnt much different than Fifa,NFS or Madden release every year.
