as the Thread Starter, i also agree with that but by looking at the bigger picture, better not.
Let the pinned topic focus on general issue/faq rather than this specific portion of PSN and the TS of the pinned PS3 FAQs for Beginner thread has kindly put the link of this topic inside it. in worst case scenario, i'll be the one who gonna reply the person who ask question regarding the CC usage and ask him to go to the link at my siggy |

For those with MY or SG credit card, always check your bill later and see how much they ALSO charge you for cross border conversion fee when using it on foreign PSN (eg. UK, US, JPN, etc). Don't be naive and the banks aren't stupid and they also want to make money with those extra fees for currency exchange. This is not the same thing as conversion rate itself. Some credit cards have this, some may not, and a lot of them hid them in fine print. It depends your credit card - check with your banks!

it is cheaper for me to use my credit cards on the PSN than for me to actually exchange money from a money changer. what you have said is not always true.

QUOTE(madmoz @ Apr 16 2010, 09:16 AM) it is cheaper for me to use my credit cards on the PSN than for me to actually exchange money from a money changer. what you have said is not always true. i just bought a USD$5 in US PSN using my amex cc... in my bill it charge me RM16.43...using the amex currency converter here... after converted USD$5 = RM16.04... amex will charge 2.5% to the total of the conversion value... it is 25 cent for every RM10... so... for RM16.04 * 2.5% = 40 cent... total is RM16.44 and they charge RM16.43 might be because the conversion rate at the time of the charges is lower... u can decide for yourself for using the cc over the psn or not... make sure u read the agreement of the foreign purchase with the bank dat issue cc to u...
