I never said we should stop holding the ball, but note that in our double seasons we still played quick passing football. Not holding the ball for 10 seconds before releasing it and have no one making forward runs, which is what we did for far too many games these couple of seasons. And when the Wengerteam MKII players were familiar with each others' runs, we pumped up the pace and wham... the blitzkrieg of 03/04 and the early games of 04/05 before MU halted our unbeaten run.

Our best style doesn't cause us to lose to ball possession teams; our best style made teams sit back and defend with 10 men and hack us down with bulldozers.

MU lost to Barca which was the better team that night. That doesn't change the fact that MU's more direct style has gave them 3 consecutive titles in the league. We used to be more direct and more quick in our counterattacks, now MU has taken that and used it to their advantage.

Someone above mentioned that Gibbs may have a chance to go on loan. If Traore returns next season, I wouldn't mind letting Gibbs going out to get 90 minutes weekly football, even if it's just a championship team. But if we lose Traore we better keep Gibbs around as backup... Speaking of which, the kids like Nacer, Henri, Jay, and Pedro are coming back yet they have to impress in the CC before grabbing the attention of le Boss.
