Arsene Wenger has his own estimation of the value of any players that he really want. and he will not go over his own estimation of the top value for any players in the world just for the sake of getting the player he want

of course that just my opinion on how i see le Boss's behavior in transfer market

Our Youth Cup run specifically (in which we played all three of the other Academy League group winners in Sunderland, Citeh, and Tiny Totts plus Pool and Villa):

Those are really impressive numbers. Especially the GF and GA columns. However, I read a piece about West Ham's all-conquering youth side from the late 90s (or early 00s, I can't remember). That team was very much lauded like ours, but from that crop, only Joe Cole and Michael Carrick made the step up to the big time. The rest of them are either playing for lower-tier teams (Richard Garcia, Stephen Bywater), non-league teams while some have completely gone off the boil.

Point I'm trying to make is, don't expect too much from your youth squad. In the past we've only had Ashley Cole and recently Gibbs coming through (dammit enough leftbacks already!!). Wilshere has already made the step up but I'm not too confident the rest of them can.

Sorry bro... I was referring to the '99 WHU Youth Cup winning side. By that time, Lampard and Rio were establised first teamers already.

Well... Clichy and Cesc were poached from other clubs... But I suppose still can consider la... 1/2 mark blush.gif

cesc came at the age of 15/16. clichy came at the age of 17.

we snapped/bought them.

still, coming at such a young age, our academy has some contributions on their development so they would be what they are now..

to date, we have only one that make through the rank (cole) and i believe gibbs will make it to the 1st team..

others, they play for other teams.. not bad for academy reputation i think.
bentley..sidwell..muamba..larrson..upson..to name a few..

I hope the ex gunners will score. Sylvinho, Henry or Hleb if they got to play. Sorry to say, I do like Man Utd to win. Because especially my friends is going to boast around. Evra had been speaking a lot lately. Lets see what he can do
