I think so,but this is the only way that can reduce cost. I plan to start from Auckland untill south island and return by flight.

Problem now, i not sure how many days i need to stay at certain place. Make me hard to pre book the accomodation.

I think the last thing you should do is pre-booking your accommodation. New Zealand is a place full of unpredictability (sceneries just keep getting better as you explore) and best discovered at your own phase. Any "urgency" to reach your next stop may destroy the whole experience of peace and thrill.

going new zealand on 23july - 18aug.

any suggestion what i need to plan first?
no idea about NZ at all..

Now Jetstar having promotion, return ticket for 2 person including meal, 25kg luggage, 25 jetstar voucher, flexi time and name change. cost SGD1560 from Singapore to auckland.

is advice to buy Hi card at NZ or Malaysia?
Malaysia Hi card lifetime membership only cost rm300.

Was the NZ and Malaysia card have same benefit?

Wow...that is a long break.

In fact, you can tour both islands and slot in Fiji Island / Tahiti for 3 days.

Can forget about Tahiti and Fiji as air ticket from NZ to there cost more than from SG to NZ.

Take your time, enjoy the scenery. If this is your first time to NZ, focus more on South Island. I assume you will be flying into Auckland via Singapore on Jetstar?

Maybe hire a car from Auckland, take about a week or so travelling around North Island then head down to South Island and spend the rest of the time in South Island. End your trip in Christchurch or Queenstown, return the rental car there and take a domestic flight back to Auckland to catch your flight back to KL.

I've no idea what's a Hi Card.

Wow. I see a lot of walking/hiking and possible driving as well in the plans. Take your time and enjoy the time there. Just to point out, check your weather forecasts beforehand as your plans might be affected by the weather.

P.S. Life in Dunners was wet. Also, do take sometime to go the antarctic centre as it is one of the places that you can learn more about south pole. smile.gif

Shouldn't be a problem. NZ is quite a slow paced country. Does she has any medical condition that doesn't allow her to travel for long period of time? If not, then I think she would enjoy it. Take your time and just enjoy the scenery.

Hi all,

I will be travelling to NZ in 2 weeks time. plan for a 2 days 1 night in Queenstown (driving from Dunedin) and a day in Auckland. Do you reckon i have enough time to go to Milford Sound in Queenstown for that short period of time?

There are 3/4 tours per day from a few companies (i think 4?)

from Queenstown to Milford sound you need to drive like 3 - 4 hours.

I've thought about it few years back when I was still in a relationship. I think it's possible. Check with those wedding studios that do oversea wedding photo shooting trips.

Or if you have any photographer friends, try to make a deal with them. You will most likely be paying for their flight ticket, accommodation and everything else. Or discuss with any professional photographer that you have in mind? Otherwise, engage a wedding studio in NZ and see if they cater for international customers.
