hi guys.. if i want to go to south island, that means i should land at CHC right, not at Auckland?  The flight should be like this.. kl to australia (syd/melbourn), and then CHC?

-If I travel using caravan/motorhome, I can still go to any attractions, right? I mean, there wouldn't be a place where it is reachable by cars only or only cars allowed and caravan is not allowed to pass or park.. right?
*
Landing at CHC is obviously the most convenient. There is a ferry if you want to go from the north to south island but that works only if you have enough time.

Yes most attractions are reachable by caravan. Some may have parking a bit further away but I went around in a caravan and had no problems.

Hi,

GST in NZ is about 13%, quite a sizeable amount. Anyone claimed GST upon leaving NZ? What are the T&Cs, e.g. period of stay in NZ, minimum amount?

Is there a customs office in AKL international terminal?

Thanks in advance.

hi everyone. i'm going to north island for 7 days/6 nights and south island for 9 days. due to the short 7 days at north island, do you think still worth to skip some place and visit the bay of island or just skip the bay of island? thank you.

my plan is:
1st day: auckland airport to paihia
2nd day: paihia to the cape lighthouse and 90th mile beach
3rd day and 4th day: down to auckland city and go to hamilton at the 4th day evening
4th day: hamilton and go to lake taupo at 5th day evening
5th day: lake taupo
6th day: wellington
7th day: early morning flight to north island

Anyone think this is a do-able itinerary or it's better to cancel the bay of island trip and maybe add in napier and hasting to replace it. besides, do you think the day i allocated is enough to visit the main attraction at those place? thank you.

If you are going on winter season. please take it in consideration, because it is day short night long, it turned dark usually on 530PM-6PM NZ time. smile.gif

not making money i guess from these routes.

you would have to transit at least once to get to Christchurch from KL.

Jetstar have not had direct flight to KL for some time already. Last time Airasia used to have but they stopped already.

Currently Jetstar also stopping the KL-SG-Auckland flight after this month. Will have to fly KL-SG-Melbourne-Auckland with longer transit hours. If you wanna fly via Jetstar (budget), maybe you can get Christchurch-Melbourne then Melbourne-SG-KL, or get Airasia from Melbourne-KL.

Otherwise, domestic flight to Auckland and MAS direct to KL. But this one sure more expensive.

Jetstar SG-Melbourne-Auckland transit is a big no no. Around 7 to 9 hours waiting time.
That the reason i need to reschedule my trip 1 week earlier as effected by the end of route.

Now my route is SG-Auckland and Auckland-Melbourne (transit 3 hours)-SG

sadly jetstar stopping their SG - Auckland route.

I think next best thing would be via AA KL - Melb then take Jetstar Melb - NZ.

Sometimes, using Air NZ can be a good option too. I used to do that but since I drop by Melbs or Perth sometimes so it might be slightly different. Still, Air NZ is a good alternate option sometimes.

Hi Guys, I plan to visit New Zealand next year around Oct or Nov. What's the cheapest route since Air Asia don't fly there.

Well if you don't mind the transit hours, there are different ways for you to travel. Drop by Melbs then fly to Auckland or CHC. Virgin, Air NZ, and a few more are good choices.

Previously I had the chance to try aax to CHC but that was few months before they decided to axe the route. Lucky me for choosing earlier dates doh.gif

Check jetstar. Or airasia to Melbourne, then air nz or jetstar to nz. For domestic flights in nz, check air nz and jetstar.
