I think YouTube will auto-convert to its intended size or HD during upload. It is not 70MB when stored in YouTube, but much smaller. However, to replay YouTube, normally need a steady and fast bandwidth.

1) I think you are using high/highest quality settings in N82
2) The format stored is not the in best compressed format. i.e. although it may be mp4, similiar like a jpeg compression image, but it is a loosely compressed video.

Try copy the video to PC, then use video-software tools to compress the video again or lower the resolution. The video quality will degrade but the file size will be much smaller.

it's bcoz u're inside a building and the roof or whatever thing above u is blocking the signal. u're required to stay outdoor so that the gps signal can be reached.

ic ic, thanks for the feedback. My main reason for looking at nokia n82 is the camera plus GPS for me to take during hiking. i often go into jungle for hiking and sometimes climb mountain. thats why i want quality camera phone + GPS (that can tell altitude). but now I think maybe I just buy a real GPS unit like Garmin, even though cost RM1000+. Cos if nokia receiver not sensitive, no point also bring to jungle right. thanks for the info anyway.

mzms,

Nokia Sports Tracker application is good to do bread-crumbs trail tracking including altitude. But this depends on the signal strength and number of satellites locked. For altitude, I think need minimum 4 satellites locked.

However, for more accuracy and faster response, nothing beats a dedicated GPS device.

You can pair up N82 + GMXT + map + Bluetooth to the dedicated device also.

5zal06,

Google for Super © (Simplified Universal Player Encoder & Renderer) software for PC. It is a freeware to convert videos.

Normally, when I open YouTube in PC, it will auto-play. I will click the Pause button, and wait until the pink/red bar is fully downloaded. This may take from several minutes to 1 hour or more, depending on my StimX bandwidth and video-length. Then only I play the video, it is very smooth.

hurm.maybe my explanation is not good enough .sorry
yeah i know most people will pause the video and wait for the red bar to be full
i do that too.
thats not the problem, the prob is after waiting the video fully loaded, when i play the video on youtube
its looks laggy,stuck2,like the pic will stuck for 0.01 sec

example like if u are swinging your hand up & down fast - when u watch the video on your n82,it really looks fast, like real
but watch at youtube,u can see your hand moving a bit slow
-hope u cn understand.sorry my eng was quite bad.dunno how to explain

already tried watching the video at cc and my friend house.still the same

Added on July 3, 2009, 9:41 am5zal06,

If I understand correct, you watch the uploaded into YouTube in PC is not smooth.

You watch the original video in N82 is smooth, clear and sharp.

The reason is, when you capturing in N82, I assume you use high-res (for phone) 640x480 VGA 30fps. At such high-res, it is 70MB

As mentioned above, YouTube will convert and reduce before storing at their website. The 70MB will become, e.g. 7MB. However, using higher compression, hence lower quality, the resolution maybe reduced to 320x240 and 15-20fps. This is why you see not so smooth, not sharp, jaggy, boxes, etc.

Hello guy,

I've targeting for N82 as my first phone after secure my first job. But, after reading some comments in this forum, I'm convince that the battery life is one of major con for this phone.

Is there any ways to increase the battery life? or is there any thread i can refer to?

TQ

PM the user AceCombat to place ur order for the battery. Supposedly can last for up to 3 days under normal usage per charge. I plan to buy too when my ori battery dies.
