Hi, got a problem here.
Anyone know how come i read my message or go into the inbox, my iphone will say "could not activate vellular data network. You are not subsccribed to a cellular data service"
open inbox also need to send data?
My guess is whenever u go to inbox, iPhone will auto update your inbox.
There is a Fetch setting in Settings > Mail/Calendar.
Even if you set it to Manual, this setting only tells the iPhone you will fetch your new mails manually.
And that particular "manual" action is by you accessing your Mail app.
I googled around and found out there are a lot of iPhone users unhappy that the iPhone is still able to access data even when you switch off Data Roaming.
So far, the fake APN works for me but i learned from a fellow LYN forumer you can't change the APN on Maxis set.
Maybe need to dig deeper to search for a solution.
As for the GPS, iPhone is having an A-GPS which mean it is not a full-fledged GPS chip like Garmin.
In order for A-GPS to work, it will require data access to know the initial location for the GPS apps to kick start the navigation.
I'm using Sygic GPS App now and it worked this way.
It's kinda defeating the purpose of having a GPS app on a foreign land because it needs to access data first before sending signals up to the GPS satellite.
Anyone notice anything similar?
Perhaps I should try switching Airplane Mode and run my GPS app to see it works eh?
