chewkl, I'm only afraid you spend 2k+ for your budget solution and end up with a 1073 realtek rather than minimum a C-200... (using media player analogy which you understand well)
go for SVS la.. I don't think CHT or AS sub also anywere near the performance of a 3+k SVS..

bos, not really.. low 15-20Hz (at usable db) is really different from those other subs which seem to be able to play more of mid bass....

as for the second part.. dun say liddat la.. ronn's pad interior decor and HT equipment dem elite, he's different level la....

me, always on optimization for HT gear.. I can't bring my self to spend that much on HT gear anymore...
