hye hella fellow malaysians working in sing.......i might be out of topic here, but i cant find a place to get prompt reply regarding my problem here..

1) how do i topup my GO POSB debit card here in malaysia?

- the story behind this......my gf has two cards, one is GO POSB(blue card which im holding) + 1 is the orange credit card(which is with her), currently she's somewhere in the middle east n needs me to cash in money to the POSB card that im holding.....so she can can withdraw money with her orange card(both card are connected to the same account)......so plz advice......
*
So the orange card is debit or credit since you mentioned credit here but debit on the title.

Just bank in money to the POSB card, not so sure how to do it if your in malaysia with a malaysian account. But if you have a singapore account, its just a matter of banking in the money online if you have her bank account number.

If u are away from Singapore for more than 1 day, coming back to Sg by Air, and not from Malaysia..
Then u are entitled to buy:
1. 1 L of hard liqour
2. 1 L of wine
3. 1 L of Beer
*
Thats if your entering singapore from another country. I am planning to bring back some booze aka wine back to my hometown in malaysia. Last i remembered you can only bring 1 bottle of wine. Coz i brought 2 bottles but kena tax for 1 one of it.

I am using M1 mobile broadband and its a mix bag.

And like all MBB's, its very location dependent. If your staying in a HDB area, sure enough the speed will suck not due not to walls screwing your signal strength but the amount of ppl using the MBB as you in your general location.

I had to complain quite a few times to their customer support, in the end the did improve in my residential area and gave me a waiver of 1 month of my monthly subscription as well as a 10 dollar reduction for the next 6 months since they tested my area and found that it indeed was suffering from an over saturation of users. So they most probably had to increase the bandwidth pipeline in my residential area.

My office in bishan is right smack in the middle of landed property so besides getting 4-5 bars, i also get near consistent max speed which is a plus point.

p2p is not blocked by m1 as i know it since i use to once in awhile to download tv shows like top gear or stargate universe. I usually go for video streaming like getmiro.

A tip if your getting a MBB is to try and either get the prepaid version to test out your area to see if its saturated by MBB that the speed is useless pass 7pm, or borrow one from a fren for a day. I believe ang mo kio, toa payoh and jurong east have terrible speeds. I know for a fact that pasir ris are pathetic as well for M1's mobile broadband.

Btw, as a user, i hate it when ppl use ppstream since its well known as the king of "bandwidth blackhole". If your sharing one connection and you got a fella who has pps, you cant goto a webpage.

i am using thunder5 to dl my tv shows. it can dl but the thing is, after i use it for about 10 mins, it will cause my NB to bluescreen. this does not happen when i use my house owners Singtel broadband(actually he indeed let me use, coz i know i dl a lot, so i dun want to use his line. he even advise me many times not to sign up for it as it is wasting my money, but now, i regreted it as the speed if very poor). i reach home around 7pm everyday, i open my dl. after it bluescreen and restarted, i can connect but cant surf the web anymore. even msn cant sign in. tried to ping google, no respond. BTW i stay in Sembawang in those HDB just opposite sun plaza. I am getting 3 bar most of the time. some times 4 bar.
*
My post mentioned that speed isnt entirely based on signal strenght but bandwidth capacity for a given area. You maybe near the cell tower and have a signal strength of 4-5 bar but if there are alot of ppl within that area using it.

Your basically like connecting to a wireless connection with 10 ppl using pps and your right next to the wireless router, your bandwidth is being sucked up by so many ppl that signal strength doesnt matter.

$500. And penalty fee of $2.

I believe that applys for dbs/posb.

Citibank doesnt have a minimum amount last year, donno about this year. I heard for basic savings, UOB has the best interest rate.

There is no standard procedure for allowances since thats upto your company discretion. There is usually no standard as to the amount of allowance a company may give you and asking other peoples exp on this may not be the best gauge of what "you" may expect.

Gotta bite the bullet buddy and discuss with your employer on this issue.

For those who have a mobile with 3G data plan, i just wanted some info on price and service provider network speed and stability coz i am planning to get a 3G phone with a data plan but not sure about which provider to go to.

I may either get an iphone 3GS but i am more interested in the andriod based phone (Google nexus anyone?)

I know the data cap is 12GB across all the telco but hows the data plan coverage?

I have M1 mobile broadband (unlimited 2mbps) as well as Singtel BBOM (50GB/month 1mbps) with my iPhone. Notice that when it rains, M1 signal will drop compared to Singtel. I have a aztech 3G wireless router with me, so I used that at home with M1. As for the Singtel BBOM i normally tethering for my Macbook when I'm outside.
*
Is there a big diff between say the telco BBOM and the 3G data plan over your phone? Coz i have an M1 BBOM 4MB plan.

If say i go for singtel 3G data plan, whats the supposed speed over the 3G data network? is it capped at 2Mbps like what mackiddo and if i am in an area where the BBOM isnt very fast, would that affect the 3G data line or are there indenpendent of each other if i were to have both plans from the same service provider.

During my school days, i study in a english school and we have church service every wednesday in the morning. I don't understand why they use the word "Allah" to describe God as the church i went to use the word "Yesus" to describe Jesus and "Tuhan" to describe God. haiz... apa nak jadi dengan Malaysia ni.....
This kind of news really makes me sad...

Dear all,
Currently i looking for a room (Lady), burget around SGD 500 or less..any idea how can i get?
*
I have a room (actually its my landlords place) but i wouldnt recommend you to stay wif her.

I too will be leaving that place when my contract ends since she is a scrooge with water. Plus you will have to put up her son who doesnt flush the toilet.

I will be looking for a place as well, hopefully not with a landlord.

the iPhone won't die so easily one. I have been tethering since day 1. just leave it charge while tethering, it will still charge but slower.  Singtel is giving 7.2mbps 12GB if i'm not mistaken, so that should be more than enough if you're not those downloader 'fanatics'. I'm blessed to be in Yew Tee + high floor where i could get full signal strength not only for Singtel & M1, but MAXIS also ... haha  rclxms.gif  go figure
*
I usually bring my laptop to office since its at the bishan area with a high floor and i get max speed. But things start to go down hill when i goto my room in the HDB.

The internal audit that i am familiar with is an internal audit for quality management under the ISO since i am an internal auditor for my company. If financial audit then that one has to ask accountant. I just audit workflow process.

*
I think she is financial auditor, usually goto other company and audit their books and stuff. Internal and external the same thing basically, just know what you are doing and looking for and its a done deal.

A very stressful job where ppl have ridiculous deadlines to meet. Often scarifying their personal time for the work.

But Singapore is really too small to accomodate so much foreigners..

If Singapore was awarded a land similar to the size of Johor by GOD, things will be very much be different.

Alot of singaporeans wont like it coz it would crash the property market since it would devalue all current property if they have a new land supply.

what can i do? ask them postponed?T.T....
*
tell them your unavailable and ask if them if its possible to reschedule. Most HR people shouldnt that inflexible since by the end of the day, they just compile a stack of resumes, new or old and shift through them. They wont blacklist you unless you dont turn at the appointed time and date.

Pity your company hires people like you. Belittling other profession when merely a fresh hire. Snobbish and ignorant. Dare you admit that you were educated in some top notch Australian university when all your replies were baseless and without substance. Sorry, but I have read a lot of your nonsensical replies and I know I have a choice ignoring your replies but conscience just dont allow me to keep quiet, so I need to voice out my displeasure.

Secondly, there is nothing to pity, noone pointed a gun to their head to work late into the wee hours, even as I type this, I am still working. It is a choice, and my choice is to work on a Saturday night from home of course.
*
More like "little choice" rather then "personal choice". But thats another story all together.

I have a fren who also works in the audit line and its natural that have to work beyond normal working hours with no compensation. I wonder if the superiors of audit firms purposely provide workloads knowing full well that it is impossible or impractical to finish it during normal working hours, hence you have use your off time to compensate for your task.

True all companies will abuse you, depends on the degree of the abuse. How about not paying you the OT that you deserve, it isnt fair but some companies to do that while buying themselves a new car or house.
