OK, i wanna ask until this moment who was successfully converted their MY driving licence to SG driving licence while retaining his/her MY licence so that he/her can fulfill ALL the below stated conditions without getting any summons?

1) Drive SG car in SG
2) Drive MY car in SG (limited to 10 days, AFAIK)
3) Drive SG car in MY
4) Drive MY car in MY
*
You have to give up your MY license (JPJ will blacklist it) after you convert to SG license. You could retain the license in the old days, but not anymore.

actually you don't need a MY license coz you can drive MY car using the license and MY license is expensive anyway (RM30 per year ?) compare to SG license SGD50 for life.

but the problem is u cant drive MY cars in MY with SG licence.
*
the only way to keep both is to take the whole driving lesson in SG rclxms.gif

in order to convert to SG license
u need an authorization letter from JPJ and show it to LTA
then only u are entitle to take the theory test

so while u get the authorization letter, some of the officers will just void your MY license
*
correct. To reinstate your MY license, you have to hand back the JPJ letter which is impossible tongue.gif

eh.. I tot $60k is for the platinum card.
Nvm.. I got a Corporate Card (individual liability) from my company when i still holding EP..
The requirement is $30k Salary p.a.
*
I don't remember Corporate Card for individual liability have a minimum cap coz last time my Co mass distribute the American Express to us, but then again even the newly join employees exceeded the $30k annual income.

I seldom see ppl holding classic or gold card in Sg, most of them using Platinum nowadays. Is the classic still exist today ?

Just to confirm with u guys?

SG personal income tax is one tier right?

Once your income is taxed in SG will not be tax again in MY.
and all monies remitted back to MY will not be taxed.

Am i right?
*
yes, you are right. since they change the double taxation rules a few years back.

not really. although I owned a day car, I seldom drive to work even though they provided me with free parking, opting for Co transport instead. unless I'm require to work urgently on odd hours.

Ya tough. My cousin who is a financial analyst and draws a monthly salary of $5K got rejected of a PR. He has been working here for 9 months.

I believe PR application is for those who draw more than $5K for now.
*
not only that, probably the years of working in sg counts as well. think 9 months is too soon. probably should give it a couple of years.

EP Holder CANNOT drive Msia car on a regular basis. Full stop. Otherwise singapore will be flooded with Msian cars.
*
Not true. Only Singaporeans and PRs are not allow to drive in Singapore. For EP you have to meet certain requirement. I think one of it is that you do not have a permanent address in Sg, like staying in JB but i doubt they will check on that. A lot of ppl staying in JB with EP are driving car/riding bikes in and out of Sg everyday. Check on the LTA website. You still have to pay the VEP for foreign vehicles.

Actually my hotel is near Orchard road but i don't mind to yum cha anywhere, I can just take taxi or MRT, at least it gives me a chance to explore SG.

What is the most famous newspaper in SG? izzit NST?

I read in this thread b4, that some forumers mentioned that saturday usually have more job vacancy ad, just like The Star in Msia. I want to try my luck with newspaper since i din get much respond through jobstreet. Since I'm going to be there on friday and saturday, i guess i can buy the newspaper. Is their newspaper being sold in almost everywhere? Never pay attention to it everytime i go there tongue.gif

So anyone wants to yum cha? Am keen to know new friends smile.gif
*
drop the 'NEW' . It's call as Straits Times here. Normally have lot's of classified section on Saturday. You could get the paper almost everywhere, etc .. shops in MRT station , supermarket like Fair Price, Cold Storage, Prime ...., or neighbourhood shops.

.... another popular paper is The New Paper , lot's of gossips and day to day happening in Singapore but classified section normally filled up with massage service brows.gif

IMPORTANT don't forget to buy the TOTO for the coming CNY big draw, jackpot price should hit around SGD10million SGD12million rclxm9.gif

any yum cha also can count me in cool2.gif

ok, Straits Times. Got it.

@Mackiddo, I don't buy numbers. haha
@alaskanbunny, I don't gamble as well. But for Malaysian izzit free to visit the casino?

Normally where you guys yum cha? U can suggest, cos I'm not that familiar with SG biggrin.gif
*
u HAVE to buy just this once. SGD$1 for a shot at it. What better place to yum cha than at Yum Cha @ Chinatown. That place not bad, food also good.
